July 20 -24

We have found this forum very useful, keeping us advised of the happenings at Desire-Cancun ... We hope others find our report as useful as we have found theirs.

This trip was our 4th stay at a Desire Resort. The first was Desire Cancun ... Then two consecutive trips to Desire Cabo prior to the switch to Temptations.

Arrival to the Cancun airport July 20 was smooth and uneventful. After running the gauntlet of time-share salesmen inside the terminal we quickly and readily located our TransBeach driver, immediately outside the terminal.

Our arrival at the resort was equally smooth and effortless. We were quickly checked into our Passion Suite and declined the sales pitch at check-in.

At check-in I inquired about the occupancy level and was informed that occupancy was 90%.

We were able to hit the beach around 1:30PM ... There were several beach beds available ... The Passion Suites have beach beds reserved.

After an hour on the beach we drifted over to the pool, which was packed. Lots of mingling and laughter in and around the pool. Everyone seemed to be having a marvelous time making old and new acquaintances.

From the outset and as with our previous stays, everyone we met seemed to go out of their way to be welcoming, friendly and cordial. We have always felt this atmosphere has been Desire's greatest asset.

We have stayed at ALL of the high-end 5-Star properties ... Ritz, Oriental-Mandarin, Four Season's etc ... Desire is by-far our preference because of its atmosphere. We are from an ultra-conservative city in the South and if we can feel comfortable in this environment sans clothes, anyone can.

People started drifting up to the jacuzzi around 4PM ... Activity there and in the evenings was consistent w/ previous posts ... We are not lifestylers ... And we had a blast, as we always do at the jacuzzi in the afternoons or evenings.

Theme night participation was high ... The core age groups during this stay seemed to be in the 40s-50s ... Service was excellent ... The food, was always served promptly and while its not La Cirque was good.

There appears to be construction work beginning on the north end of the resort ... The new addition presumably.

Civilian traffic from the adjacent resorts was minimal during our stay ... What little traffic there was, was not a problem and peaked in the morning before the temperature rose too high.

Please note that pool beds are now being reserved beginning at 7:00AM ... This was a departure from our previous stays.

Hope everyone found this helpful ... See you there!!!
