1st Timers Trip Report - March 12-15, 2016

We usually don't do trip reports, first because we don't post a lot anyway, but also because we don't want to offend anyone. However, we just have to comment on our recent trip to Desire, so here goes....

First about us. We are from the Midwest, married forever (to each other), middle aged, slightly overweight, and mildly introverted . We have been to Temptation a number of times, but have never been to a nude anything (beach, resort, etc...). We are not into the Lifestyle, but have absolutely nothing against those who are. In fact, while we don't 'play' with others, we do like to watch.

So, for this trip to Temptation, we add on a few nights a Desire Riviera Maya. First impression was that we were entering a construction zone, which was all related to the resort being built next door, but as soon as we entered the lobby, we were impressed. We transferred from Temptation early in the morning, so after a quick check in we were escorted to the spa so we could change clothes. Yes, I know we didn't need clothes, but remember, we are newbies.

The spa was exceptionally nice, at least the portion we saw. On the walk to the pool we admired all of the trees and landscaping between the buildings, the wandering walkways, and how quiet it was. Very different than most other resorts we have been to.

We walked out to the beach and while we liked how much bigger and nicer the beach was over Temptation, it just looked like it was jam packed with beach beads, even two rows deep in many areas. Didn't strike us as a very romantic setting. Still, it was nice that there were plenty of beds available.

Then we got to the pool, and more beds and chairs seemingly jam packed into every square inch. Loved the pool and the swim up bar, and gotta say the beds and chairs were nice, but just so many. Right away met Daniel and learned about the bed/ chair reservation process. No complaints from us on this. We absolutely hate the chair saving games that go on at other resorts, so having a process and someone to manage it, was cool with us.

As far as the atmosphere around the pool, there was a wide variety of ages, body types, and stages of undress. There was probably an even ratio of people in full suits, partially nude, and fully nude. My wife had already gotten pretty comfortable being topless in Temptation, so she had her top off in no time. For me, my trunks were off within the first hour, but it took a whole before I was comfortable doing more than just sunbathe or swim nude.

Our first meal there was lunch, and even their lunch buffet was better than most of the food at Temptation. We had made prior arrangements to get a reservation for Suki that night, and the hibachi and sushi was excellent. We tried the dinner buffet then the fancy restaurant on subsequent nights and all we great.

We had an ocean front, second floor room, and really like the room. It wasn't 5-star, but it was nice and well kept. We were disappointed in the view from the deck. It had a shared seating area, which is fine, but it was way too lit-up to be romantic and the view was of a sea of beach beds. Could have been better

Now the jacuzzi. We had done a lot of reading on this forum so we kinda knew what to expect, but we were still a bit surprised by some aspects. First of all it was much smaller than we expected. By 5:00 or so it was usually jam packed, which was a little uncomfortable for us, so we would go to the bar or the lounge area when there got to be too many boobs and butts in close proximity to our face. We were usually there for a couple hours before dinner, and another hour or so late at night, and each time we saw similar patterns. First of all the four chaise lounge chairs on the deck are a complete waste. They were used for nothing but storage. We would have used them when the jacuzzi got too crowded, but there was always towels and other crap loaded on them.

The beds were actually a similar story. Sure we saw a couple couples (or more) use the beds for play, but the majority were used for couples just lying together. Nothing wrong with that of course, but if you are just going to cuddle, there are dozens of beds buy the pool and the beach, and not only would they be more romantic, you wouldn't have people waiting for you to get up so they could use the bed. Then there was the single lady that just came up, laid on one of the beds and took a nap for two hours. But the most interesting was the two couples that each grabbed a bed, and while they looked like they were going to do their own thing, one of the guys grabbed a laptop and the four of them took up two beds looking at who knows what on a laptop. This went on for a long time before they eventually got up and went to the jacuzzi. Again, I'm sorry if I offend anyone, and I am all for people doing what they want, but some of this just seems inconsiderate.

The shows and the disco were decent. Definitely a different atmosphere when people don't have to keep their clothes on. And the whole environment was fun and friendly.

I am running out of thing to say, so I will end by saying Desire was a nice experience and we hear Pearl is a little more spread out, so we will try that next time.
