Let me begin by saying that even though we have been to a great number of resorts, hotels, etc. this was the BEST vacation we have ever had!

A little background: We are from the North-East region, early 40s, married for almost 20 years, not into the Lifestyle, but love to watch people enjoy themselves (whichever way they like). We have never been to any CO resorts, so needless to say were a little nervous going to DRM.

Our flight landed at Cancun airport at about 10:30 am and after a rather efficient customs check we stepped out to an 82 partly cloudy degrees. Thanks to this forum we booked our transfers through USA Transfers and they were great. Their representatives met us right outside the airport exit and in about 10 minutes we were underway. In about 25 minutes we pulled up to a shocker - a very small modest entrance (comparing to the mega resorts we have been vacationing in). At that time I was so concerned, I started thinking about how would I go about booking another resort(stupid me).

As soon got out of the car, we were greeted with a smile by at least five staff members. They escorted us to the front desk and Manny handled the whole check-in process in the most courteous way imaginable. He then took us for the tour around the resort. Right away we felt a great relief. The grounds were manicured perfectly, every staff member we passed seemed genuinely friendly. Everything was spotless clean. Passing by the pool was a little bit of a shocker, we have never seen so many naked bodies in one place, but once again it seemed so tranquil and civilized that we actually really liked it. The resort was very compact, however that only added to the perception of intimacy. When we were done with the tour, we proceeded to have breakfast.

The food at DRM was the best we have had at any resort, so was the service. Practically EVERYTHING tasted good. At that point the my earlier thoughts of moving to another resort seemed laughable. Soon after we had breakfast, we were advised that our ocean view room was ready. The room was not big, but it offered plenty of storage space and a good size bathroom. The room was impeccably clean. We quickly unpacked and headed for the beach which was just a few steps away. Rene was in charge of the beach beds and he arranged a nice bed for us. Most of the people on the beach were naked, so it took us no more that 20 minutes to start enjoying the CO experience.

The beach was very well taken care of with maintenance crews raking the beach every morning. The water was warm and clear with occasional seaweed patches on the bottom, but I would say it is still better that the vast majority of the other Riviera Maya resorts. After a few hours on the beach we had lunch which again was great, so was the dinner later that evening. The only comment about food is that sushi were not as good as we are used to - a little too much rice and a somewhat limited choice of fish.

The nightly entertainment was OK, but it did not matter as we thoroughly enjoyed watching more experienced guests having fun in the theme night outfits (it was a lingerie night). These were the happiest people we have ever seen. Regardless of age or body composition, they were genuinely enjoying themselves. Thank you for showing us another level of happiness! The rest of the nights at DRM were very similar, but just as entertaining. The Disco scene was even wilder with some ladies stripping right on the dance floor and most of people making out to the sounds of the energizing beats. Out of curiosity we ventured into the sin room where one couple was having sex (another great experience).

The next day we felt full of energy and naughty so we booked an erotic massage (if anyone has any questions on that, PM me and I will try to answer), but the experience felt electrifyingly sinful.

A couple of times we came up to Jacuzzi, but once it was empty with one couple having sex on the beach bed, the other time the Jacuzzi was full to double it's capacity.

USA Transfers were right on time to pick us up to go back to the airport. We really felt sad leaving Desire, but really hope to come back.

If one has any doubts whether to go do Desire or any other resort, just go to DRM and enjoy great food, outstanding service, exceptional grounds, the happiest people, and most of all the overall atmosphere. I know I will have a very hard time going anywhere else.

You are so right...best place on earth! I don't think any memory can ever replace that first trip to Desire.
