Trip Report August 8-12

Postby Island Dreamer » Tue Aug 18, 2009 8:33 pm

This was our first trip to Desire or any clothing optional resort. We are a couple in our mid 40’s & early 50s. After researching and talking about this for over a year we finally made our reservations.
First the only downer to our trip, which had nothing to do with Desire, was our flight was delayed arriving in Cancun. So then our transfer was not there. However after 2 phone calls we were picked up and rushed to Desire. After arriving at the door we were greeted by Mia with glasses of champagne. Then we were taken to our room, a garden view ground level, #1902 for those of you that know the resort, followed by our luggage.
After 30 minutes we were on the beach where Rene fixed us up with one of the beds. Shortly after that we were naked and walking in the water for the first time ever! We spent the rest of that day on the beach. That night they had a steak buffet by the pool. The food and drinks were good. The breeze off the ocean blowing through my wife’s hair as we sat at our candle lit table was refreshing. Later we went to the outdoor lounge and listened to the band that was playing and enjoyed the outfits that some were wearing. This was the first week of the new themes and tonight was leather night. My wife was dressed in a very short leather skirt and a see thru top, with no bra of course. I had never seen my wife look soo sexy that night and the nights that followed. We choose not to go to the disco as bright flashing lights and real loud music are not our cup of tea. Sunday night was Super Hero night. We didn’t dress for this night but enjoyed the outdoor lounge and band again. Monday night was black tie and heels night. Again not everyone dressed but the ones that did were very creative. Tuesday night was Jeans and sexy white night. Who would have thought that denim pants and skirts could be made to look so sexy. Wednesday night was Eyes Wide Shut night, however that was our day of sadness as we had to go home.

Each morning we would get up at sunrise, as this was a good time for photos with no one else around. We respect that pictures at Desire can be a big concern for everyone, including us. Most all of our pictures were taken by Desire staff. A few were taken by other guest but we always made sure no one else was in any of our pictures. Africa made sure we didn’t go thirsty while on the beach. She even brought us our lunch and dinner on our last day. Another kodac moment!! Carlos fixed us our last drink and talked with us during our last hour in paradise. Again, another kodac moment. This being our first trip to Desire we wanted to bring back all the memories we could. Sorry if this sounds like a story rather than a report.

As far as tipping we never felt obligated to, however after the treatment we received it was easy to do. After reading other suggestions usually we would tip a dollar for each round of drinks, 5 for dinners and various other services such as beach beds and pool loungers, and 20 for the housekeeper.

The weather was perfect, low 90’s during the day and 80’s at night with a little breeze. Didn’t have any rain at all. They sprayed every night at dusk for bugs and we never had a problem with any bug bites. Never had any bugs in the room. No one ever made us feel uncomfortable in any way. Never had a problem getting a bed on the beach or a lounger by the pool. Another reason we got up early. We ventured up to the rooftop jacuzzi once or twice but not much going on up there at that time. Really warm and not much shade. Tuesday night a few ladies got painted. Amazing to see them walking around wearing nothing but paint. We did meet and talk with a lot of nice people, however we were there to celebrate our silver anniversary and choose to spend most of our time alone. One afternoon Rafael surprised us with balloons, a banner, more champagne and desert in the room. The entire staff always made us feel like royalty. Some of the names that come to mind are Raul, Mia, Edgar, Jorge, Daniel, and as mentioned Rafael, Carlos, Rene and Africa. Our housekeeper did a wonderful job on our room, especially with the towel swans. I’m sorry we never got her name.

All in all this was the honeymoon we never had. After experiencing Desire, reading the other reports will be a constant reminder of what awaits us on our next trip.

A great t/r.
We planned our trip to be there for Eyes Wide Shut and Lingerie Night.
Walking in the ocean(sans clothes) is one of the things we intend to do.

Great to read trip reports from newbies as well as repeat visitors to Desire.

Thanks for taking the time to write your review.

We always find that writing a trip report makes our memories linger that much longer and it's fun to look back in a month or two and re-read our experiences. We get to re-live them again.

Thought of 2 more items we left off original T.R. Beach traffic and the time share. As far as traffic on the beach there were a few walkers, maybe 25 during the day, most were couples and a few single guys and teenagers, but they never bothered us. The teen boys would look straight ahead, but you knew they were wanting to look. Some of the couples looked up and they probably were wishing they were there themselves.

The time share was never a problem either. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted to have one of the ladies explain the resort to us, to which we said no thank you, and it was never mentioned again. The airport was a different story. Thanks to the advice we got on this forum we managed to get out of the airport fairly well. As soon as you get your luggage and clear the screening go straight for the doors outside and don't stop for no one. They will tell you anything to get you to stop. DON'T. Get outside and look for your transfer. Every minute you spend talking to these people is 1 less minute you will have at Desire.
