June trip report

We had our first Desire trip in June. Got through customs and baggage in 30 minutes or so. We took cab from airport and it was $70. Probably will arrange transportation through Desire next time. The driver was very nice and offered to stop for supplies and was very apologetic even about how much it cost. Govt taxes etc from airport were the reason he stated. Went thru Desire checkpoints and arrived without incident. Sat down and had nice greeting and champagne while waiting for check in. We were never asked about time share and were told our ocean front view had been upgraded. We were brought to a passion suite steps away from the Beach. Obviously a nice first impression. No complaints at all other than bugs in room the first night which we managed to keep out subsequently by leaving lights low and keeping towel under door where the bugs were getting in. Reasonable food options including healthy options were always available as we try to be careful at times of what we eat. The food is not five star, but is quite good and we are rather picky. Liquor choices were good and we were able to get Grey Goose vodka the entire trip once we realized it was there, but often out of site. We tipped baggage handlers, maids and bartenders as well as waiters nominally and they always acted exceedingly grateful and were subsequently eager to help in any way. We had no problem getting palapa bed on the beach right outside our room both days we were there and gave the beach staff nominal tips as well. We only stayed two days at this resort as we were simply not sure if we would like it when we booked, but enjoyed it immensely. The gym is not the best, but is adequate for getting a work out in during your stay if so inclined. We enjoyed the disco and jacuzzi area and spent little time at the pool and our experiences were similar to what many have already stated. We met several nice people and certainly had the option to participate sexually with others, but we were more in a voyeuristic/exhibitionist mode the time we were there. We spent the rest of our week at a five star resort in the hotel zone which was very nice though we did miss the freedom at Desire and booked a longer return for later in the year.
