Newbie Trip Report June 4 - 9, 2016

We enjoyed sunbathing and swimming nude but have always loved the hospitality of the Mexicans so we decided to give Desire a try. We are not in the lifestyle and we are both in our late 40's.
We nervously arrived at the resort at about noon and we were fortunate enough to have Mario to check us in and explain everything to us. He could tell we were not sure of things so he offered for us to do the timeshare presentation but he didn't push it which we were thankful for. He took us on a tour and showed us around. Our room wasn't ready so we changed and went for lunch. You must reserve a chair by the pool each morning so there were no chairs available which was a bummer. There were chairs available at the beach so we went there. The beach is long and narrow. There was some seaweed but it really wasn't bad.
We were able to check in to our room at 3pm so we settled in and went to the hot tub. We lost our clothes and got in. There weren't many people there yet but soon we met a nice couple from Colorado who told us more about the resort and what to expect. It wasn't long before the action started and all I can say is WOW! It started raining and lightening at about 6pm so everyone got out. We changed for dinner and then sat at the lobby bar where we met more people. A storm blew in and the electricity went out - but only for a short time. We ate at the buffet which was very good and then went to the disco. Each night has a different theme and most women dress up. After midnight, it was still raining but we went to the hot tub anyway. There weren't many people there but the ones that were made a party out of it and we had a great time.
Our routine for our days at DRM consisted of getting chair reservations with Daniel between 7 & 7:30am; breakfast; pool/beach; hot tub; dinner; disco; hot tub. We were always up early and we stayed up late because we didn't want to miss any of our vacation time.
We had more fun on this trip than we have had on any of our other trips! The staff went out of their way to help us have a great trip. Edmundo is a bartender at the hot tub who never let our glass go empty. He would see us coming and bring us the drinks that he knew we liked. Sylvia kept our drinks full around the pool. As I said earlier, Mario helped us when we checked in. Roberto (Arby) was part of the entertainment staff who kept the fun going. Rafael showed us the crocodiles at the entrance and told us all about them. I wish we could remember all of their names. They asked us to fill out a survey when we left so next time we will keep better track of the names of all of the outstanding staff members.
As wonderful as the staff was, the other Desire guests are what truly made our trip as fantastic as it was. We met a group who travel to Desire together each year and they were all so nice. We met so many people - both part of the group and not part of the group - and every one of them was fun and easy to talk to. We have kept in touch with several of them and we look forward to continuing the friendships for years to come.
Overall, we had a fabulous trip! We have never stayed at the same resort twice but we are already planning a trip back next year and we even have a trip planned to Pearl in the fall. If you are comfortable nude then GO! We only booked 4 nights just in case we wouldn't like it but after we got there, we wished we could have stayed longer.
