This forum was so helpful (thanks everybody!) for us in preparing for our first trip to Desire, that we wanted to “give back,â€

Thanks for taking the time to write and post your trip report - especially from a "newbie" point of view.
"Single" guys doing inappropriate things (touching without asking and being the lone one watching) should have their names published (even if it's just a first name) in these trip reports.
That is just really creepy behaviour!
Glad to hear you had a good time.

Hi Miranda --
Thanks. --- Yes, I agree that it's creepy behavior. The way we dealt with it was to draw attention to it when it occurred, and to tell others who were at the resort.
The environment is so open and relaxed at Desire that it is easy (and desirable) to let your guard down. And for 99% of the people there, they are doing the same thing and that's why the environment is so enjoyable. But it also gives the few bad eggs opportunities to take advantage. Dealing with it by telling others, works to some extent. I'm not sure the resort can do anything -- it's a group norms sort of thing.
cheers, dirk

Dirk,
Did you see if Walmart stocked Ambre Solaire products?

OSD --
We remember they had Garnier hair products, but don't specifically remember their sun products. however, they did have several different brands of sun products. They also have an in-store pharmacy, as well as a reasonable wine selection.
The store is new, well stocked, clean, etc, and not crowded when we went there.
Cheers.
