Have heard a few reports that "this isn't really a 5 star resort and the prices are only high because you can be naked". How would you rate the overall resort in terms of 5/4/3 star.
thanks - it will give us an idea.

4.5

I would say 4.5 stars. The atmosphere is what you are paying for.

No one loves Desire more than us- but no it is definetly
not a 5 star resort. Keep in mind though that Desire's
"rack rates" (listed regular prices) are far less than the area's 5 star resorts- such as secrets silversands just down the beach. However, what is happening right now is that the 5 stars are heavily discounting(Silversands has been advertising 40-50% off) to draw in customers. Many resorts in the area are having a hard time getting even 50% occupancy. Desire, with it's loyal following and 55-60% repeaters each week, is not having near the problems getting bookings as other resorts so they are not discounting nearly as much.
So right now the rates between Desire and the area's 5 stars are similar in many cases. But even though Desire may only be a solid 4 star resort, most of us loyal patrons wouldn't even think of going to a 5 star where we couldn't be naked , where they don't have a playroom or beds around the hot tub for PDS, and where we wouldn't be free to indulge our fantasies like we can at Desire.

It is not a 5 but it is a 4+ simply because it is VERY clean and well kept. Unlike Hedo, it is not perfume on a pig. The food is decent and the rooms are comfy. The beach is great. The music at the pool needs an adjustment. Most guests are between 35-55, yet they choose to play contemporary rap, rock, etc. Not sure why. Oh well. Being naked in a fun and clean place is what counts.
