What resort do you tell your family

So what resort name do you use when telling your family you are going to Desire. With the internet now a days they can easily find out info we would rather them not have.

friend's parents beach house from my old job... and the house does NOT have a landline, so don't call the front desk!

If someone asks the wife she says that she can't remember and that I booked it. She says "Oh, we stay at different places all of the time." If I am pressed I just say Secrets. Silversands is one of 6-7 Secrets resorts in the area. But, why be specific? Most people in casual conversation don't really care and it is just conversation. If someone is doing research for their next trip we tell them to go check out Trip Advisor. Since we dive , I can always say that we are going to stay with some people that we dive with that have a place in Mexico. Fortunately the kids are grown so we don't have the problem of the worried grandparents calling every day.

We tell people where we're going. Desire is a gorgeous, very upscale resort, and pretty much all our friends and family know we're nudists. I don't see the point in lying about it.

Sorry but I'm confused. The OP clearly stated they didn't want people to know where they were going. It's great that all *your* friends know you are nudists and you can tell them where you are going but that's not the case with everyone (like the OP for example - and us for another). Sure, for you there is no point in lying about it. For others, there clearly is. So are you trying to convince everyone to "come out" like you guys? It *would* make things simpler in one respect but for us anyway, could also make things *much* more complicated in others.

I'm not encouraging anyone to do anything. I guess we're just more comfortable in our lifestyle choices and would rather not get caught up in a web of lies? I'm 51 years old... too dang old to give a crap about what others think about my choices.

We used to say Silversands - because we've been there and can answer any questions that people may ask. But recently one of our family looked shocked and blurted out: "Thats a swinger resort". I guess it has a bit of an Adult only reputation? Seemed kind of tame to us.

Was at Silversands two years ago. My wife was the only one even topless and the only action was the three iguanas at the back of the property.

How do solve the problem of family friendly photos if you don't have any of the"resort" you are telling your family you're visiting ? I would think other resorts wouldn't allow you on their property just to take photos.

I mentioned this on another post but I really think Desire should have a green screen. You could stand in front of it in different poses - frolicking on the beach, lifting a drink, etc. - and snap pics. Then, in post processing, you just insert some canned background shots and presto - instant family safe pics of your vacation!

I'm only half joking.

We took pics at Desire, but we were incredibly discreet.... like going onto the beach in the morning before anyone was there, lots of pics of us in the room, or overlooking the resort from our balcony, again with no one there (early mornings are great for this). Since everyone knew where we were going, no surprise, no one asked to see any pics. Hahaha. We posted a handful on Facebook (all G-rated, of course), which seems to be what people do anymore with vacation photos. I can't remember the last time I looked at someone's vacation photos that they hadn't posted to FB.

We usually tell everyone that we were at Excellence. its right up the beach from Pearl. We looked up details on Tripadvisor and then walked through the resort once during our daily walk on the beach. So we know just enough about this place to be able to "tell" about our vacation. It was so funny when after our last trip one of our friends told us that they were at Excellence too… but we knew about it just enough to steer the conversation away from Desire...
