Suki Terrace

Postby two4funinpa » Mon Oct 19, 2015 8:32 am

When we were there last year the Suki Terrace was only open Friday and Saturday. It looks as tho they've expanded that to Tues, Wed, Friday, Sat... Upon our arrival last year on late afternoon Thursday, they were all booked up for the weekend already. We did end up eating there as a terrific couple invited us to dine with them. And this year we arrive around noon on a Wednesday, so hopefully we'll be able to get our own reservations. But here's my long winded dumb questions: Is there any way to make reservations for Suki Terrace before you arrive? We want to make sure we get in this year. The place is really good...

Tell us more about that great couple that invited yall to dinner with them...they sound hot lol. A couple last year before we went to dinner that night told us they couldnt get reservations until checked in and they missed the chance to eat there. Hopefully the extra days will remedy that but I think the Friday and Saturday nights will still be packed. We go the week before you guys do this year and we will probably make our reservation for 4 again just to make sure we dont miss the chance of hanging out with new friends for dinner. It was probably the clothed highlight of our trip last year.

If I recall correctly, it's not open every night of the week and reservations are a must.

The sushi bar is on the outside terrace as you walk up the stairs to the roof top. It's a small, intimate restaurant area inside - not many tables, and most of them are for 2.

Hubby doesn't eat fish but he did manage to find a couple of things on the menu that he could enjoy.

I thought everything I had was delicious and the service was impeccable (as it always is when we visit Desire resorts)

It is good...and it's nice because it's different. With only 2 main restaurants it's nice because it's a change of scenery. When we ate there the scenery was great!

We are one of those couples who has invited others to join us at the Jade (what we call the sushi restaurant). If you can't get a reservation, just put out the word at the pool, jacuzzi or lounge, and I'll bet you not only get to have dinner on the terrace, but also will make some new friends. Remember, (just like sex), you can never have too much fun or too many friends. XL

Basically, they serve sushi as starter courses with a "chef's special", usually fish, as a main course. This is very much an American take on sushi, and not what you would get in Japan. Not all the sushi is sashimi (i.e. fish) but the rest was mostly vegetable; there was very little meat. We recommend simply asking for the tasting plates.

Service was excellent: we went twice. Suki is now open Wednesday to Sunday. This is a small dining room with perhaps eight tables.

Thank you. I do not eat any sea food. I was hoping for a good steak

Hubby doesn't eat fish, rice and most vegetables but he enjoyed what he did have. I enjoy all foods so our visit to Suki Terrace was for me. There is always the buffet if you feel the need to eat more than what you have at Sukis.

We were invited to dine with 2 other couples. We enjoyed ourselves quite a bit and thought food was excellent. The service was great as well. We look forward to doing it again in December!

:L
Special thanks to the hot, sexy and beautiful half of this couple for lending the use of the avatar photo.
