Thank you for sharing your comments. Unfortunately this situation was one in a million. As you know, we have never experienced this kind of issues before at Desire Pearl.
Our Human Resources procedures include to check the background of all candidates before they start to work with the company.
Actually, there is a Security Association in Cancun that provide us all the reports about the Mayan Riviera and Cancun employees who were fired for stealing, unfortunately, they had not anything in their records.
When we realized what happened with the thefts and knew about who was causing them this person just disappeared.
We are grateful for your understanding and we are giving the best possible follow-up

Just to be fair this is not just a problem at the Desire Resorts as it happens at every resort, hotel, motel. Because of the great Desire forums where visitors can leave feedback it just seems that the problem is running wild. In our 6 tips to different Desires we have never talked to guest that have had their stuff taken. Yes I'm sure that things at taken at different times at different Desires but I would say that it is a very small amount. I can remember that at DLC a guest reported that he had over $400 taken from him at the spa one night and he was blaming the staff. It turned out that he went to town by himself and when he returned to the resort he went straight up to the spa. He spent the money in town and didn't want to tell his spouse so he came up with the story about the spa. So like I said at the start thief is not just a problem at Desire only.

We've had exceptional experiences at both Desire Resorts & Temptation Resort. Same owners. Often we have left our safe unlocked & open for an entire day. Some occasions they lock it& leave a note while on other times they leave it open. We've had hundreds of dollars & other items we want secured left exposed and experienced no losses.

We are however generous in tips for staff and very friendly with all staff we meet, knowing most by name. Not sure if that helps but it can't hurt.

Maybe it's just good luck we've had but I would say we also have not met people at the resorts reporting this issue during our holidays either. It should be no buzz kill or concern. Just go and have a great time.

We've been to RM/Pearl 10+ times and never had anything taken from our room. In fact, on the rare occasions when I have left the safe open, the staff has seeked me out to have me return to the room and lock the safe, or else they lock it and leave a note to have you contact security to open it.

Thank you for responding. It is nice to know that someone from the resort is actually reading this forum. We Just returned from an 8 day stay in August and had no issues regarding theft.
