My wife and I just returned from a great trip to Desire Pearl. Probably the best time we have had at a resort in a while. The staff and guests were all great - accommodating and welcoming the fact it was our first time at Pearl. And we enjoyed participating in all activities afforded us - both at the Jacuzzi and the play room. So we had no issues being watched or watching others as they too enjoyed the amenities. One question was it seems that as soon as the show is over at the Disco everyone pretty much disappears - but to where? and if this is a stupid question excuse my ignorance. Even the Jacuzzi was pretty empty late at night. Private parties etc?? Also is there any protocol for engaging with another couple. We are not in the LS but after a couple of days there my wife was open to some Soft activity. Maybe something random in the play room? I would not wan to embarrass myself or any one else so excuse the question if it is out of line. We are already planning a return trip in a couple of months and really looking forward it.

During our trip to pearl in 2015, we too noticed the disco cleared out quite quickly, the playroom use being minimal if the disco is near empty. Lots of people seem to hang around the lobby bar, and the hot tub late night visitors ranged from a decent crowd, to sparse.

Protocol to meeting like-minded couples? Each couple (or even each spouse) will have their own personality at play. Unless you somehow exude "sexuality", it will require engaging others thru conversation, eye contact, body language....but in a casual, non-pushy way. Simple? Hell no, but missed opportunities will happen if procrastination is common. And so often repeated....ladies rule. Guys can be flirty, funny, even sexy gentlemen. But when the ladies are comfortable, the banter can start to include "where could this go?"

Thanks for the input - so just as at home, my wife rules and I just need to follow. I'm good with that. We just did not want to be rude on our first trip and ruin it for ourselves and others. cant wait to return in May. We will be more informed.

Interesting observation. We were at Pearl a couple weeks ago and the Jacuzzi was pretty heavily used after the evening show, until 1-2:00 each night. We did notice that quite a few people left the disco soon after the evening show, meaning not spending a lot of time at the disco. But then we did the same thing because we had spent time dancing in the lobby before the shows. We also noticed that there were some private parties in the big penthouse suites, but not many.

We have found that the night time activities do not measure up at Pearl. The disco and play room at Pearl were not built for Desire fun. Never find people to stay and hang out there or play much. The Hot tub is in a weird place so all the fun is right in a major traffic area. You go to Pearl for the beach and grounds with a little fun possible. Nice place but was not built for a great desire set up. It is nice to be close to Puerto M nice small town with some good local food as well.

It all really depends on the crowd there. Each year since opening when we go the hot tub is rocking till early AM hours. Yes the disco clears out early but then we fill it back up with naked bodies as we tend to get a crowd from the hot tub to go back to the disco and dance more. We have seen the play room have lots of activity and sometimes it just takes one couple to start the action, which we aren't shy at doing. Our first year there we were in the hot tub with a large crowd until 4 am even though our transport was scheduled for 6 am. Good thing we prepacked everything.
Last year we had the entire group in the hot tub lined up on the bar doing body shots and it became a nightly occurrence. So again it just depends on the crowd at the time.
We love the location of the hot tub so central to everything.
We plan on repeating everything again this year.

It REALLY depends on the vibe of who is there. We've been 4 times now and each time has been different, sometimes radically so. Our first time there we had 3 other couples that all clicked SO well from the start, and we closed down the Jacuzzi bar every night - we were there an hour or two after it closed playing and having fun then almost missed breakfast the next morning because of how late we got to bed. On another one of our trips, we skipped the disco and had the huge tub completely to ourselves for almost 2 hours. Just the two of us. Then a small trickle of people would come in and that was it. The vibe was really low key that time and we saw almost no one actually playing. So it really depends on the weekend, the vibe, and the other people on site at the time.

We have to agree with you 100%. We were at Pearl in November of last year. We arrived on a Friday. Each night the disco seemed to clear out around mid-night. The first two nights, the Jacuzzi was full with about 30 - 35 couples and all the beds full. Lot of fun going on in and out of the water. On Sunday night we went to the disco and as usual it cleared out around mid-night. We proceeded to the Jacuzzi. This time, there was almost no one there. We figure that day was kind of a transition day since a good number of couples we met the first 2 days were heading home on Sunday and a new crowd just started to arrive. The number of people and fun at the Jacuzzi at night, steadily increased as the week progressed.

last year we had to extend our stay to around 11 days which is allot for us. the vibe changed day by day and it felt like ground hog day on a longer time scale. some nights dead and quiet hotel other nights WILD. Depends. we did hear of parties but that also has different mixes going on. this place changes each night.

What does the ocean look like? A couple years ago, we came down and there was all kinds of sea weed. Hopefully it is clear this year, we love the beach.
