My wife and I have been to Pearl twice now and loved it to the point of getting teary when we had to leave. The first time we went was in July (as it was around our anniversary) and the second time was this past December.
There were certainly a lot more people in December then there were in July. The hot tub in the afternoon early evening (after all of the activities) in July had a handful of couples whereas December, you were pretty much shoulder to shoulder with people. My wife and I are in the lifestyle but were 28-29 when we went our first time so it was hard to connect with people outside of the playmakers. So pretty much every day was based on the activities that the playmakers set up. We would wake up and grab some breakfast just in time for cornhole and volleyball, while nursing a few drinks, then usually participate in whatever activity was going on near the pool. When there was a break from activities, we would take a break. Usually we would go back to our room for a few minutes to cool off and then grab some lunch before getting back to it. After the activities were done for the afternoon we would spend some time at the hot tub. Either getting freaky or just talking with some of the couples. During our December stay, we were asked on three separate occasions why we were at Pearl instead of RM. Apparently the crowd at RM is younger and the bar/club scene is more intense. We may spend a night or two at RM during our next trip just to see what it's about but we have come to love Pearl.
In our experience, Pearl has yet to disappoint. I am sure the looming construction projects may have an affect on someones visit, but the atmosphere is fantastic. The shows they put on are great and the staff is amazing (the playmakers in particular.) That was actually the only thing we were worried about when we came back the second time was whether or not it would be the same without the same crew.
When first we went there was Mia(Adrianita), Kia, Vince (Javier), Mike (Juan), and of course Charlie (Carlos.) When reviewing the forum in the months/weeks leading up to our return we saw that our favorite (Mia) wasn't there anymore. That she had moved to RM to DJ or something. So we were kind of bummed. But when we got there, we saw a few familiar faces (Charlie, Kia and Vince) as well as some new people (Roberto, Shirley, Candice, and Panther.) There were certainly different personalities, but we enjoyed ourselves just as much. So despite our concerns of staff changing and us not knowing anyone when we return, it is apparent that whatever staff is present has the ability to make your stay fun and exciting.
