The house wine on our last few trips has been getting unpalatable. The first thing we do now is go to " Chedraui " supermarket downtown Puerto Moreles and buy a case of Pinot Grigio . We take a bottle to Lunch and one to Dinner. We chill it in our room before heading out and the waiters will place it in an ice bucket for you. So, yes you may bring wine to the restaurants. The selection at "Chedraui" is very good as well as the prices.

I believe the limit is 3 liters per person, so 8 750ml bottles if you are travelling as a couple.

WE brought a couple of very nice bottles in June as we were celebrating our 35th anniversary. The bottle we opened for dinner at Pearl was available on their wine list for $550. That was triple what the bottle cost u purchased directly frm the vineyard. Their overall wine prices are super high.

The Pinot Grigio we buy at "Chedraui" in Puerto Morales is US$8 a bottle. The same wine on the wine list at Pearl is US$70 !!! That's a 900% mark up.

Let it be known that the Emptynesters are horrible wine sharers!

Let it be known that we offered them some of our wine and they turned it down.
