When we were last at Pearl at the end of June/beginning or July, staff reported that they would soon begin re-construction of the beloved pier. Did this happen and what's the progress report? Too often, Desire makes claims that do not occur .......... often to recruit new membership.

We were there July 10-20. They had started driving new posts for the rebuild. It was a very slow process. I think they got 8 done while we were there.

Wrote about this in our latest visit report. Spoke with several staffers at several levels and was told the plan was a 90 day install but the machine they are using to set the posts malfunctioned and needed to be repaired/replaced which caused an additional delay. I'd suggest it may be up and ready around mid-November.

We just left on Monday, there was no work on it at all the entire time we were there. I inquired at the "Member Update" and they really didn't know why it had stopped or what the plan was to fix it. Probably a good thing they didn't get to far with the storm just hitting.
