Hello all

We have been following the progress of the new dock at DP with great interest. We arrive soon, does anyone have any recent updates, is it finished, are guests allowed to use it?
The wife and I both enjoy walks on the dock so it is a highlight of ours.

Someone posted a pic of the new dock looking close to completed... No gazebo at the end anymore.

It's possible they intend to build one still, but the platform at the end of the dock as it sat at the time of the pic wasn't anywhere close to big enough for one.

We were there last week. It looks like the main part is about finished but no gazebo yet. We couldn’t walk out on it either.

That's disappointing. I always enjoyed going out there. We had a couple informal cellphone photo shoots there on a few trips.

Arrived home last night... The work continues on the dock/pier the main structure is done and looks like the old one, looks like they used all the old materials and did a really nice job. They are now working on the palapa all the logs and material are out there, has 6 guys and chain saws running all day yesterday!!
There are no steps they make a ramp while they are working, it seems higher now guess it's because of the beach changes.

Thanks for the update @youme69. What is the condition of the beach with sand and seaweed right now ?

The beach has totally changed over the last year... where the beds used to be up by the wall is now a steep bank and the beds are now closer to the water on a flat spot. Good news is there are more beds almost the whole length of the beach.
The seaweed is still bad everywhere and a nonstop job, we walked north and south and seems the same. The weed barrier is only about maybe 50 feet off shore now not sure what that's all about.

There now and agree with all of that.
