Flying with alcohol

Has anyone brought their own wine or hard liquor to DM or DP before? We wanted to bring a couple of bottles of wine that we like, but wasn't sure how that worked getting through customs. We looked online and it said you can bring 6 liters, but wanted to ask if anyone had any issues? XO C&K

Tourists(age 21 or older) are allowed to bring into Mexico, on each visit, a maximum of up to 3 liters per person of alcoholic beverages (any combination of Liquor, wine or beer). Because of TSA regulations these beverages can't be part of your carry on and therefore must be in your checked luggage.

We bring a case of wine with us everytime. We use a wine check to transport it and have never had any issues. Your allowed up to 3 liters (4 bottles) of booze or 6 liters
(8 bottles) of wine each. We always get stopped at customs, they just open and count the bottles.

We always bring a case down, as well. Since we get stopped at customs when they see the "Wine Check" case, this time we're trying this:

It looks less conspicuous and it's a little easier to haul around the airport when full.
