I have read a lot about people enjoying the foam party but I have not found a explanation of what all it consists of other than many people in the pool which is covered with foam. Anyone willing to give a description?

That's pretty much it. Music is playing and the pool fills with foam. People jump around (or more) like a rave and bat beach balls around, ride large inflatables, etc. It's a lot of fun and goes on for a good 45 min or so.

And some sex going on in the foam.

From my experience in 5 foam parties (two in DRM, one in DP and two in another hotel) I conclude that the music, the foam, the inflatables and the fact of declaring "foam party" make those 45 minutes a more permissive period . This means that friction between bodies (intentional or accidental) is very frequent. There are always one or several girls who pose on top of the inflatables, and are carried to one side and the other of the pool.
There is sex, quite a lot. In November it was something discreet, but in January, during the ISM, there was no reason to hide it, so those of us who practiced it, did it without any modesty.
It is an event not to be missed.

In 2 trips to Pearl the Foam party was about the same. Lots of foam, tossing inflatable beach balls, some underwater sex and a few BJs with the men sitting on the edge of the pool.

In our 5 foam parties, I believe it is just the promotion of “the party” that enhances the vibe. The music is louder than normal, occasional shot girl walking around but other than the foam there isn’t much difference except the vibe. It is fun but in my opinion it is just because everyone shows up ready to party just a bit harder than other afternoons. The staff seems a bit more liberal with allowing PDA around the pool but I have seen them ask people to refrain when it gets a bit too obvious.
