Advice Needed - Reserving Pool Chairs

My wife and I are headed to Pearl at the end of this month. We currently have a master suite reserved, and are trying to upgrade our room, but it is pretty packed when we are scheduled to go (we already booked for next year and have a penthouse room). Given that we don't have a butler what is the best way to get seats reserved at the busy/fun side of the pool (near Aphrodite). While we both want to relax and read at times, most of the time we are looking to socialize and be partaking in activities.

Simple, go up to the pool attendant, introduce yourself and ask for the available chairs.
They will do their best.

Actually, get up early on the first morning. Give the pool attendant a nice tip (Usually $20), tell them how long you are going to be there and ask them to save those chairs for you each day. Then each day tell him thank your and give him $5. That works for us.

This also could work.
These days we don't even ask they are just there.

In our experience it’s easier at Pearl than at RM. They have a lot more space at Pearl and fewer guests. So, plan accordingly depending on which resort you’re at.

Does anyone know the name of the pool attendant(s) at Pearl? thanks

His name is Victor, and he is awesome.

This exact scenario works for us every time.

Same here. In June, we walked to the pool on our first day and Victor saw us. He told us that our chairs were in the same spot as usual. I;m sure the same will happen when we arrive next thursday

Chairs might be easier than cabanas. We just got back from Pearl and it took us 4 days to finally get a cabana. Service from Victor and all the guys was great, however.

Just a side note: you might need to give tip to more than one guy for the week so be prepared for that too. Victor is great but there are others too and they need their share, they take turns, so the next day you might get someone else willing to help you even if Victor is still around. Just keep that in mind.

Good advice - thank you.

Add Miquel to the list of pool attendants. We give $20 the first day for assignment and $5 each day for set up. What did seem to change this time was that if you were late in the morning (say after 11 or so) your original spot may be reassigned and you get a new spot. Didn't seem to make a difference if you were member or not as we had friends both members and non-members that had pools spots reassigned the next day. But all were very late morning people...like arriving just before noon.
We go down by 9:30 and had our same spot each day.

Agree with all the comments so far in regards to tipping, but keep in mind members are given priority for the pool side lounges, especially at the bar end of the pool, so you can’t necessarily count on the same location day to day.
