Heated Pool at Pearl

Postby SLINON » Thu Dec 21, 2023 12:42 am

Just read a review on Tripadvisor which stated that the pool at Pearl was absolutely freezing. I am pretty sure that the end with the swim up bar is heated....I hope that is still the case as we will be there soon and a cold pool is no fun. Has anyone been at Pearl recently and can comment?

We were there three weeks ago. It's all relative but it certainly isn't "freezing." It's heated on the bar side and unheated on the "quiet" side. Since it's shallow it cools rather quickly at night and warms during the day due to the sun. It was about 85 deg every day around 11:00 AM (per my watch).

We just got back and can confirm that the pool was freezing all week. People would congregate in the hot tub by the bar but there were very few people in the pool all week long. Rumor is that there is an issue with heater.

That's a real downer, I hope they are attempting to fix it asap...

Just came back this Thursday. Pool was cold. Keep in mind the weather sorta sucked and even the sunny days were Mexico chilly. This was our 4th trip. All past trips...the pool was perfect and the "jacuzzi" tub next to the bar was f**king freezing. Every person who stuck their hand in the little pool had the same reaction "Oh, eww, cold!". This time that little pool/jacuzzi was blazing hot and the main pool was cold. Get in the big pool for a few minutes and it was fine. There was more than one occasion where we had to get out of the little pool as it was too hot...and the main pool was a relief. News flash...it's December and the weather can be dicey.

We got there on the 14th and there was a barrier erected near the DJ end of the pool and they were doing work on something. The playmakers did say "something" was not working, but never got a real answer. It was a bit of a downer...but...it just made the regular jacuzzi even more fun as people congregated there.

End result...it had ZERO effect on our trip or our fun. If you're someone who bitches as Santa Claus, stay home. If you're someone who lives in the real world and realizes few things in live are perfect, it too will be a bit of a bummer but have zero effect on your trip.

We were there mid January and we quickly discovered that the "warm side" is weather dependent. We chose to sit on the quiet side each day but would crawl over the wall to get to the bar (really impossible to be graceful, regardless of your level of fitness, when crossing over that wall). On the nice days, the "cold side" was much more refreshing to get in to and the "warm side" was too warm imo. But when the clouds and wind came in, neither side was very comfortable. The foam party was likely the windiest day there and, unless you were sitting directly in front of the jets at the bar, the "warm side" was freezing and the heater is not meant to keep up with that kind of cold and windy environment (and the foam was as much in the jacuzzi as it was in the pool lol). By now, I am sure that it feels warm every day and will continue to until the winter rolls around again.

Hey B&B, we just got back last night after spending 10 days at Pearl. The side with the bar was warm, and the cool (quiet side) was in the low 80's, which was refreshing on the hot days we had there.

We didn't talk to everyone on the quiet side, we stayed on one of the beds on the far end (middle left bed looking from the pool towards the beds). Where were you located?

We were the second to last set of pool chairs (not beds). We left there on the 22nd late morning so we may have missed you. Most days, the "warm side" was very warm but we found the "cold side" to be more enjoyable. The only day that we didn't find the "warm side" to be warm was the Sunday the 21st. It was cool and windy all day and the heater just could't seem to catch up. My wife and a few other ladies parked themselves in front of the warm jets at the bar but we gave up and moved to the jacuzzi with the crowd lol.

No complaints really. Just an observation.

Yeah, we missed you then. It's hard coming back after spending time at Pearl.
