Metal Doors and More

Greetings!

We'll be at Pearl in around 3 weeks and we have a few last minute questions...

Are the doors to the rooms made of steel (like on a cruise)? We want to prop door and invite others to come in, we found magnetic dry erase boards and we were figuring we could attach to doors with messages.

What, if any, is the dress code for men at the restaurants? We've read all sorts of things, but, essentially, women can wear whatever they wish, especially if in theme, but haven't seen much about men.

The doors are made of metal with a fake wood facade that I believe is non magnetic. Regarding open door invites, the doors for all rooms face away from the pool area, meaning you basically would need to have someone walk past your building and be inquisitive enough to walk to whatever floor you are on to find your open door. We have jokes over the years that whoever is randomly wandering the resort looking for open door invites just might not be the people you want accepting open door invites.

Dress for men at dinner is usually pants, closed toe shoes and golf shirt to dress shirt.

I agree with the other post above. You probably couldn’t get anything magnetic to stick onto the doors. The way the rooms are laid out there really isn’t much, if any random foot traffic. Mostly people just head directly for their room and don’t wander around others. If you still want to try this technique, there are a few things you can try. You could always shove a flip-flop under the door to prop it open and then put a sign in your window. But, honestly that comes across a little cheesy. With that said, many folks throw, open house or invitation-only parties. If you want to go down the “open house” route you may want to have business cards with your names printed them made up and then when you are there write your room number and what your “office hours” are and hand them out around the pool or hot tub. In the restaurants gents need long pants which are not jeans, closed toe shoes, and a shirt with a collar.

My add to Dinner attire, do not let her head to dinner in theme (you can thank me later). There are about 1% of women who do they all head back and get ready for theme night. And the 1% who do are new and you can see by the look on their faces that they are not happy they are the only ones dressed in theme for dinner.

2nd this! It's fun to bring a bunch of things you can't really wear at home. You can bring ultra sexy stuff for dinner (no one will care how revealing) and then go back and change into theme night attire after dinner. It's much more fun showing up in different outfits and seeing what really sparks. Have fun with it and don't worry about a thing- this isn't the real world!

We don't like those types of "surprises" so we would never play the "open door game" but, no one will care in the least if you want to try it. It might be having too much expectations on your first trip....we have seen people inviting to "in room parties" (not talking Mansion parties) and most don't want to leave the fun hot tub time, hard to beat that.

For dinner, we dress for a date night, sexy cocktail dress, something she wouldn't wear out in our town. He wears trendy, GQ, sexy for dinner there is a drees code, (maybe unspoken), so don't show up in shorts and T. Most then go to their room for a theme night change.
