Mansion at RM or Pearl

My wife and I are planning a trip for next year. It's a milestone trip for us so we don't mind investing the money if it is worth it. Whats the thoughts on the Mansion rooms? Would a Penthouse room be a better option?

Pearl
Never stayed in the Mansion but looked in it. The rooms look nice but the ambience around pool and dining was unimpressive. You can do search to see some posts also reflecting this. It may not matter to you since there all the other restaurants and pools are available anyway.
The Penthouse is spacious and has great views but the downside is that it’s accessed by 3 flights of stairs.
The feature really worth having is the butler and both these categories have it. The butler eases any stress in booking the restaurants/ time you want even at short notice. But you can get a butler at Pearl you stay in the Master with plunge pool. But not other master suites.
RM
No Mansion at RM, but they have the Desire Suites which are really nice. They have private warm pool overlooking the view, butler service, separate check in. Stayed there twice and liked it but they are really hard to book. Never seems available.
RM also now has the Eden which is new and I have not been since it opened. Rooms look very nice with various categories available. They brand it as a separate resort, but I don’t know why because it really is not.

We've never stayed in the Mansion, but been invited to tour the various rooms and had a Mansion dinner with couples staying there. There are only two mansion rooms worth staying in, in our opinion. The two Royal Suites that overlook the ocean and quiet end of the pool and neither are in the mansion, just mansion level rooms.

If you are traveling with a group, sure, I can see booking one of the big suites inside the mansion as a great idea as they are huge and set up for "entertaining".

I assume this is your first trip, and if so, you are not a Mansion level Premier member - good luck booking out those rooms as there is a long wait list.

For RM - I'd take a Ocean View Passion Suite (near the VB court) or Villa over the Eden rooms.

*Our opinion is trash tho, as we always book the cheap rooms, as we're never in our room other than to shower, sleep, and wardrobe change. The Butler is a great Perk to help you get dinner reservations and have some requests tended too.

To clarify pretty sure by Villa they mean Desire Suites.
