walking topless on the beach

We'll be at Pearl soon and are very excited. We typically like to take walks on the beach and when staying at other places in Mexico, my wife typically goes topless. Just wondering if that would cause a problem in this area or not. We're usually a little further south in Playa or Tulum.

Thanks.

At first I was surprised about the lack of response - and then I formed a theory. It feels like most of the traffic on this site is people who are actively involved in going to Desire - and the volume of posts isn’t that high. Perhaps there’s a lot of newbies (like me) who can’t answer a question like this. I’ll answer it once we’re back. Just under two weeks now!

Hi there. We have gone to Pearl 3 times now and have walked nude on the beach with zero issues. It is a clothing optional property and the beach to the west of Desire is a nude beach as well. Enjoy!

Actually met up with a couple like last night for dinner to discuss our upcoming trip. They did say there are other hotels / resorts nearby who walk the beach as well so that MAY be an issue with some, but that’s more of a them problem than yours.

We’ve been to Pearl numerous times. We've never walked the beach outside the resort. Sorry! I will say there is quite a bit of foot traffic walking past Pearl, neither of us recall seeing anyone walking naked or topless beyond the resort boundaries.

Check the online maps. South of DP heading toward Puerto Morelos is listed as "ropa opcional". Google it and it shows "nudist park" Nude should be fine at least as far as The Fives resort 8)

Thanks for all of the feedback. I don't know that we really need to walk the beach very far nude - but my wife does prefer (and me!) to be topless if possible. We'll start walking south and play it by ear.

It’s certainly not common to see either nude or topless outside the resort boundaries. In fact have never seen it on many visits to both resorts.

I know Pearl is CO but do people have sex on the beach beds there or does management stop you? At DRM, it's fairly liberating there to just be and enjoy your wife how nature intended.

Management won't bother you unless someone complains. Don't sweat it.

We've walked the beach many times in the past...if you go towards PM, you'll start running into families...especially on Sunday.

However, from what I've heard/seen/read...going topless won't be the problem, it'll be navigating through the mounds of rotting sagassum grass.

Yeah, the beach immediately beside Pearl on the way to PM was no problem - there's nothing there. But once we got to the other structures it was a little "family" looking and she put her top on. We walked down to PM several different days and she only walked topless on the section right next to Pearl. The worst of the grass was right in front of Pearl. Once we got to the beach next to Pearl we were able to walk on sand without being too close to the sea grass. And once you got to the other resorts it was all picked up and we could walk in the water line.
