Question / Review Request - New Lobby Entertainment Area

We just returned from our second trip to Pearl, but the new lobby bar / entertainment area wasn't open yet. We've been to DRM several times and we really enjoyed the old lobby bar entertainment area because it was a great place to socialize. We found that at Pearl, with everything in the main entrance, it was kind of awkward, cramped and uncomfortable to have an after supper drink and watch the entertainment before heading into the disco.

With the new outdoor entertainment area (and pizza oven) now open, can anyone comment on how it is? Has it changed the atmosphere at all?

Thanks!

Just returned on 8/10. I would say it helped the vibe out a lot, more space to have a drink before dinner as well as before the show. Some shows were outside, some were in the discos still. They were still working on speakers and lighting last week as well as the main pizza oven was not operational. They had a small one and late night tacos going though. The downside might be less people actually go into the disco as it is really nice to hang out at the bar now !

Thank you! Sounds like we will need to find a way to plan another trip before next July to experience it! :)

We just got back on Wednesday after being there 10 days. The new place is great. Nice and open. Stage for the band/DJ, a place to dance and both tall chairs and short ones for sitting to talk. The pizza oven still wasn't operational, but the new bar in place was and it was great. On our last day there, they were in the process of installing two new stand up table in the area where the band used to set up.

Overall it is a much needed improvement to what was a wasted space.

We'll be there for Christmas. Where in the new outdoor bar area is the best place to sit and meet folks?

I would say outside, especially under the gazebo type things they had where you can sit and chill and talk. Best time was actually when the entertainment started and the bad was playing music and the guests got involved. It was a lot of fun and a good way to interact. My wife and I really enjoyed it because you meet people during the day in the pool and then it’s more chill in the evening and kind of exciting when we’re all dressed up. Maybe it’s us but my wife and I really liked the entertainment and thought it was better than RM but then RM has a different vibe and I liked it too but my wife didn’t. And I thought it less intimidating to meet and talk with people at Pearl vs RM.

On a side note, I think we’re leaning towards switching to December from January, just got to work on the flight but the sales/service people at Original Group are very helpful in making things happen.
