For anyone who has recently been to Pearl I am wondering if you can still walk from Pearl to Puerto Morales on the beach. Last time we were there the seaweed was so high you couldn’t get from the Pearl Beach across as it was about 5 feet high

All depends on the season and if its a high Sargassum year - In the Summer months, Sargassum peaks.
In December we walked to PM multiple times with pillowy white sand the entire way.

Yes, it is possible. We were at DP about 15 days ago and walked to Puerto Morelos with some difficulty. It’s best to wear water shoes or sneakers for better protection. The sargassum caught everyone by surprise at this time of year. For those who like to run along the beach, I recommend extra caution due to the soft sand and loose dogs. Other than that, it’s a very pleasant walk.

We just recently returned from Pearl and can report that there is no issue with the seaweed and walking to Puerto Morales was easy and enjoyable. And as a sidenote, the sargassum is not that bad this time of year with virtually no smell and no buildup.

That’s nuts! We were at Pearl Jan 16-24, mostly cool and very windy. The seaweed collected in huge piles that the resort didn’t touch. The sea was angry during our trip! The seaweed was zero bother to us. We just noticed it due to the rough surf. Interesting how different the beach can look by season and by weather!
