Please note

the concept of pay for one, play at two has NOT been announced or confirmed by Desire Management at this point in time.

Unless you see it advertised on Desire's own site. or posted in the "News Directly from Desire" section of this forum - it is just a rumor and should be treated as such

Just to reinforce Wayne's point- we were told specifically 3 weeks ago that there would NOT be a
"pay for one-play at two" program. Obviously there is a concern about folks paying for the lower priced rooms at RM and then spending all day eating/drinking etc at the more expensive Pearl. They have been saying all along that they would allow Desire guests to visit Pearl to check it out so the shuttle for the first few weeks/months makes sense.
Of course there could have been a change in plans, but until we get a confirmation either way from Desire management on the stay/play..............

This is what I just got from Valentina:
Greetings from Desire Resort!!

We will have a shuttle from 11am-11pm, very two hours going back and forth from both resorts. It would be just to visit it, because it doesn’t includes the all inclusive package, un less you are staying there.

As an option we would have a dinning around, that will be available with reservations, done through guest service, it will be limited seating.

If you have any questions please let me know it will be a pleasure helping you.

That is all pretty much what we were told a few weeks ago- except they didn't have the shuttle schedule set. So they haven't changed their minds and there is no pay for one play at two but everyone will have the opportunity to make a little visit to Pearl.

That will be nice, good marketing strategy to repeat or Desire regulars in order to experience the resort. We will most likely take a trip just to explore!

Not sure if I would like a big group from Desire RM taking up all the resturant place at the resort I am paying to stay.

It is all new, we'll see how it goes. We will be there the first week Pearl opens

geistlakecpl- your sentiment is exactly why they are NOT allowing Desire visitors to eat/drink at Pearl- except on a limited basis on the dine around program. That program will only allow a few people from Desire RM to eat dinner at Pearl each day based on how full Pearl is.
swspice- Desire to Pearl is about 5 miles by car- so probably about 10 minutes (got to take it slow over those Tope's)

Just back from Desire RM.. We had Leo take us on the Hobie Cat down to Pearl. The ride took about 25 minutes or so one way. We got off at the beach at Pearl and walked around for a look.. Pearl still has guests booked from the old resort until March 16th. There were a few guests sitting at the beach none around the pool. Looks a little more upscale than RM and all rooms face the ocean . The resort has three storys and balconys on all rooms. My main concern is regarding nudity on the beach as it apperars to have much more traffic than Desire RM has. No beach beds yet but palapas with beach chairs are available. Very nice pier jutting out into the ocean. Hope this helps.
