Wi-Fi Service

Postby lynn2007 » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:51 am

I am disappointed that Desire Pearl feels it needs to charge for the Wi-Fi service for Ocean and Garden View rooms. :( Particularly as the resort is all inclusive. There is no charge at Desire Riviera Maya for this service. I remember when Desire Riviera did this. And changed even added booster Wi-Fi connections for better reception through out the Resort. I hope this is changed to be more like her sister Resort with no Charge for Wi-Fi service.

That type of charging is more suitable to a RIU in cuba, for a resort that markets itself as high end - really?
I hope I dont have a cassette player in my room with an optional upgrade to to a cd player with an optional upgrade to in ipod dock........

I agree that with this type of accommodation The WiFi should definitively be included especially if it is the case at DRM,,, Can we press DPearl management to adjust for this mistake?

I just thought I would chime in here - when we where there this Sept the WiFi was actually really lousy - very spotty coverage, constantly had to re log in and very slow and on top of that you have to pay for this poor service - wtf !

However, and not as an excuse, I believe what happened is that when Original Resorts took over the Ceiba del Mar property, they had to, as a condition of the deal, also honor a number of pre-existing contracts that Ceiba had signed - the third party WiFi service provider being one of them.

IMHO is that when the term of this pre-existing contract expires we will all see free good quality WiFi put in place by Desire Management

Just got back and the wifi sucks compared with RM.
After a while I just didn't bother with it cause you just end up frustrated.
It was not so bad being discommunicated from the outside world.
