We are going back to DP in March. We were there last year but did not make it to the hot tub. We are not into the lifestyle thing but more on the see and love to be seen part of it. When we showed up at the hot tub area, it was much too crowded for us. We would like to make a "soft start" and we are wondering what are the times when people tend not to be at the hot tub. I guess that there might not be a lot of people at the time that the disco opens and probably before noon. I would like to get some info on that.

I have another question, during the morning is the hot tub area shaded or is it a good place to lie under the sun?

I think the hot tub does have closing hours early in the day for cleaning. Since Desires Pearl is not as busy as Desires, it would really be hard to say what are the "busy times". I would also guess that if you like to be "seen" engaging is sexual activity that would also be considered a "Lifestyle thing". That does not mean that your "swapping" your partner out. In short take a chance, if you get "seen" by someone, maybe being "caught" is what you are looking for.

Most days the Jacuzzi area at Pearl is pretty empty up until about 3:30>4PM and it is in full sunlight(not shaded) until about the same time of day.

Compared to the Jacuzzi at Desire Riviera Maya the one at Pearl is HUGE !

When we were there the resort was about 80% full(it was a group week) and at no time did we feel the Jacuzzi or the area surrounding it was in any way "crowded" - at least compared to 4 o'clock happy hour at Desire RM

We are at Desire Pearl as I write this email and the busy time at the hot tub is the same as DRM...the vibe is not quite the same as DRM...but I am sure that given time...Pearl will be the place to be...

As for the best time when people are not around the hot tub..it has been pretty quite during the day up until 3:00 - 3:30...so enjoy yourselves..you may get "caught"...but that will no doubt just enhance the experience! Isn't that why everyone goes to Desire? Sex...sex...and more sex! Amen!

What do you mean when you say the vibe at Pearl is not the same as RM? We loved our 6 trips to RM but decided to go to Pearl this year after a quick tour while we were at RM last June. Hopefully the experience will be close to the same.

We've never been to either, but we too are hoping the "traffic" picks up at Pearl. If this board has any indication, I know the posts have certainly increased on here in the last month or so! Let's hope we have a lot of "lurkers" who just haven't posted much.

When we were there in Oct/Nov last year there was nobody in the hot tube until about 3-4pm. It was cleaned every morning around 9-10am.
The peak hours were 4-7pm and then around 9-10pm and again around before 11.30pm for an hour or two.

Just did my trip report but guess I typed too slow. lost it so redoing it. Just got back and you can go in the day time but the water is very warm almost too warm and when it's hot out it was almost dead. Didn't see anyone there until after 3. Gets full around 4 to 4:30 really fun gets "going" after the disco starting around 12-1pm and can be downright hot. At least it was for us.

We just came back fr.o.m. DP. The tub was hot even during he weekdays when the occupancy at the hotel was rather low. Just go and enjoy. You will make the vibe.

I likes the Pearl hot tub over RM because of it's size. Hang around the bar area and it is more crowded, flirty, body shots and such. But if you want some alone time and leg room, even during the busy times, the far end by the towels can be private. We enjoyed both area for there respective purposes.

We did also partake in the beds around lunchtime and it was sunny and hot. The crew cleaning the pool were very respectful and ignored us but no bartender on duty yet. Oh well... The day we were leaving it was rainy and they staffed the hot tub bar early for the crowd. We did not go and look as they sounded like they were having too much fun and we could not bear to see it since we were leaving

Just got back from Pearl and did enjoy the area. Very busy in late afternoon 3:30 to 6, clears out around 6 every day, dinner time. Gets busy again after 9 then each night varies but we seemed to end up there after mid-night every day, Friday night was maybe 10 couples total but that was after 2am but sat night there was a good 25 plus. Did seem like the later in the night the night owls were a bit more crazy but you did have more room to stake a space to be by yourself.
