Bringing wine / alcohol to Pearl?
OK - So on previous trips to Pearl we've noticed couples who have brought their own favourite wine / whisky to the resort to enjoy during the day and at supper. On a couple of occasions these couples have generously shared what they brought with them as we shared a meal or two.
We never really asked them about the logistics of bringing wine to the resort though…. which leads me to the question of how??
I know the limit of what we (as Canadians) can bring into Mexico duty free - but will the resort charge a 'corkage' fee? (as most restaurants will that allow off premise wine / spirits) Or will Pearl generally allow it gratis? On one trip a couple had a fresh bottle of whisky every morning brought over to where they were sitting and opened with much ceremony + wine & champaign for supper; so they brought in almost everything that they drank.
We're only interested in bringing 3-4 bottles of our fave wine to enjoy and share over supper with new friends that we meet during our stay - None of the wine that Pearl was serving appealed to us, and we spent some time combing through their cellar… and there was nothing stellar in there either.
I've emailed the resort to ask this question - but no response. Has anyone here brought wine to share over your meals?
