Which Room Category?

This will be our first trip to Desire Pearl. From what we have read and pics we have viewed all room categories are wonderful (penthouse- can not justify the cost in my opinion). I am on the fence about do we choose the Oceanfront or bump up to the Mastersuite?
Do we go with Oceanfront for view & smaller room or with a Mastersuite that appears to be tucked around the sides of each complex? Can not tell what the view is of the Mastersuites... We prefer to be away from the loud scene at the hot tub.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Pros/Cons... Room # suggestions

IMHO, having been there, I would just book the least expensive room category - since(if you are doing it right) you spend very little time inside your room.
Once you are there you can always choose to upgrade your room category(if you want) for all or part of your trip.

Thanks CokeMann for your suggestion!
Are there others that would like to share their experience with preference of room category?
Would appreciate your feedback....

We had a Master Suite. It was handy having his and her's bathrooms at times, but other than that it was probably overkill. The bedroom of our suite overlooked the hot tub, and the music could be annoying late at night.

TandR I think we had the same room

No. 10 if I remember correctly...
We booked the standard room but we were upgraded on our arrival.
Even thou we were there at the time of Halloween takeover by LL the hot tube area wasn't too noisy and very often we found ourselves almost alone there at 2am
It was very convenient to have a room so close to pop out to use the bathroom or invite new friends just met at the hot tube over

We are going back this year in November and keeping our fingers crossed we get the same room... but if not any room should be fine.

We had a ground floor Master suite at the quiet end of the pool last September - complete over-kill for us. The extra bathroom was nice to have, but the living room sat empty 99% of the time (we 'used' it once just to use it).
The patio was great, and I don't think there are too many rooms on the property they aren't "Ocean View". We're heading back in March and are apparently booked into a Jr. suite - whatever that is (?).
I think that any room would be fine, for the amount of time we actually spend in it.

I appreciate everyones suggestion!
Based on you suggestions we choose to downgrade to the bottom room category.
I do not think any room category in the resort will dissapoint...
And as cokemann says you'll never be in your room anyway if you do it right

We were there in November and were upgraded to a Master Suite. It was a great corner room overlooking the beach/pier on one side and pool on the other. Very spacious living room, large bedroom area, 2 full baths and 2 balconies. Very nice if you like the space or want to have lots of company, but I would probably not pay the extra $ to upgrade. Can't remember our room # but it was on the far end of resort (North end). We're heading back to Pearl in April....can't wait!

Do any of the Master Suites have an Ocean View? Do any of the Junior Suites have an Ocean View?

Not true. The buildings closest to the jacuzzi do not have ocean view on the ground floor.
I can't remember Pearl's layout but any ground floor room in the building NOT directly at the beach won't be ocean view, but those rooms are master or junior suites and all are fabulous.

We had a fabulous "regular" room on the second floor in the middle of the resort. From our balcony we could see the ocean and the hot tub and it was never too noisy. The room and the bathroom were very large, and we were very happy with it. The location was very convenient to everything. I cannot remember offhand the room or building #, but I've requested it for our return trip in April. I'd be happy to post the room number when we get back.

There is no room map available for Pearl comparable to the one for RM, which shows which rooms are in which category, is there?

In one of my earlier postings in the
Desire Pearl FAQ section I posted a map and room category listing that we use for our YNOT group trips to Pearl that may be of use to you.
