Fitness Room at Pearl

Postby neatfeet » Wed Jan 30, 2013 11:48 am

Forgive me as I think this has been asked before, but can anyone tell us if the Fitness Room has equipment such as Elliptical, Rowing machine etc or just weights? Also, is there a steam room and/or sauna there as well? Coed or separate?

My wife is a fitness nut (as those who will be there when we are will appreciate  and is curious about this.

Thanks!

Complementing our Zen-like oasis of relaxation; Yoga, Pilate's, stretching and meditation sessions are performed under the property's picturesque Palapa. And for a wonderful workout, our fabulous gym, offers you the most modern fitness equipment so that you can be inspired to keep in shape.

Taken from the website... Enjoy!

The gym consists of some free weights, universal machines, and treadmill/ellipticals. There is a separate yoga room with mats and mirrors. Nothing extravagant, but I think she will find it adequate. Even better is an early morning run on the beach. We didn't utilize the spa services, but it looked nice and gets great reviews. We may try it on our next trip in May,

The equipment is quite old and does not function properly. The weights are even older and rusty. Having said that, I can certainly think of better ways of exercising

What about a steam room and sauna? Or is that in the Spa?

we were told part of the spa...so I think it was $25 to use. However if you had a "treatment" it was free

Fitness room??? never heard talk about that room or is that another name for the play room. The exercise/stretching class in on the lawn a bit from the pool and was in clear view of our room. Saw them on 2 days and about 4-5 people doing it. Lead by Rachel and Inga the hotties of the Desire Staff.

The steam room at Desire RM and Desire Cabo is free. I wonder why you have to pay at Pearl?

Re: Fitness Room at Pearl-TERRIBLE

We go to the gym at home 3-4 times per week, and exercise is important to us, especially when overindulging on food and drink.

The PEARL fitness room is an embarassment.
Only one of the Cardio machines functioned properly.
Reported to Management, but no change during our entire trip.

This was a big downer for us.

Besides the exercise room, do they have pool or beach aerobics? I'm not a big fitness nut, but with all the food and beverage, I would like to do some sort of exercising...besides the obvious kind...

Stretching or fitness at 10:30 near the pool and aquarobic at noon in the pool. We did stretching every day and sometimes did both. With all these extra calories intake I was able to drop a couple of pounds!

We workout everyday at home and we worked out everyday at Pearl. While the gym equipment is old and the weights are somewhat rusty, weights are weights : ) Take your gloves and pump up. We used the stretching room every morning to do our Pilates then pumped up with weights then took a 3 mile run up the beach and back. We did this before we had our first drink of the day! We only used the spa for a massage and it was amazing!

The fitness room is not huge but it is also not crowded. You can do a full body workout and we make sure we hit the gym while down there and never have a problem and we are both avid body builders.

At Desire RM there is usually a visiting professional instructor M-F that does 2 classes per day. I assume this does not extend to Desire Pearl. That's too bad as it is a huge hit at DRM!
