Are bug bites plentiful at Pearl?

We love these boards! We have heard others complain about bug bites. Does anyone know if they are prevalent at Pearl? Is there a season for bugs or are they there year round? What kind of bugs are they? What bug spray is most effective on them? We will be there March 22-29. How are they in March? Very excited for our first trip.

Not one bug bite end of Jan and never heard from anyone about it.

We were there in September, and on the last night I got 1 or 2 bites late on the beds around the hot tub. My wife wasn't bit at all, nor did we hear anyone complain.
Depends who you are and how sensitive I guess.

We were there last April and no bug bites.

We were there in June and October of last year, and had ZERO bug bites on either trip.

Both my wife and I were nibbled on .................. but not by the bugs!

We just got back and were surprised we didn't get any bites at all from bugs. And we didn't see any bites on anyone else, either. The grounds are very lush and we did see some mosquitoes - we thought we would get eaten alive by them.

We were there between Christmas and New Years in 2012. I am a mosquito magnet - and I did get some bites. Not as many as other places we travel, but I did get some. My hubby got NONE, as usual. Ugh. They seems to find me - I think its because I'm so sweet? haha! We'll be back in 32 days (yes, I am counting) and I think I'll bring a repellant plug in and candle for our room, just in case.

They fog the grounds with bug spray a couple of times a week. We are in high season for those nasty biting black flies right now so really looking forward to next week in Pearl to get away from the bugs at home.

We just returned on 5/7. The only place we noticed any bugs were in the evenings outside the Aphrodite restaurant. If you are a "bug magnet", I would recommend eating inside. At one point in the evening, a man did come around fogging the perimeter of the restaurant.

We were there in March, and yes, they fog every night.
One night we had a bit of a party in a friend’s room at 5:00, and we left the door open for everyone to come in. Unfortunately, we also invited a TON of mosquitoes. So, leave your screen door closed, and you should be ok. We brought some OFF, but didn't use it.

We and some of our new friends got bug bites on side of the hot tub at night. I didn't want to put bug spray on because I was in and out of the hot tub. Every bug bite was worth the fun that we had on the beds.
