Visit Desire Pearl ?

Postby cdub » Thu Feb 21, 2013 4:44 pm

My wife and I, both 40, in shape and i think fairly attractive, will be traveling to Mexico for a few days in early April and are very interested in the possibility of spending a day, or a day and night at the resort Desire Pearl, during our visit. We are not part of this lifestyle, yet at least, but have had several discussions about it in the past year or so and feel we would really like to explore it and experience an uninhibited vacation. We are not sure how we will react once the time does come so we were hoping we could try it out for a day or so before booking an entire week or 2 week vacation at a place where we later find out makes us very uncomfortable.
We are not sure about the swing side of things but pretty sure we will fall in love with being naked and visiting with those with similar interests, but until we are able to give it a try to assure ourselves we can't book a trip. We just can't afford to do it. Is there anything anyone can do to help us out or is there anyone I can speak to that might be able to make this arrangement? Dates will be april 2-9. From discussion with the resort an invitation from another guest may be the only way we can be a guest. Can anyone help us out?
Thanks,
cdub

Unless things have changed, not even guests can invite visitors. Afraid you'll have to bite the bullet and pay the money...trust me, it's worth it...

The short answer is no, the only way to visit Desire Pearl or Desire Riviera Maya is to book and pay for the minimum number of nights - which for Pearl I believe is two nights.

All AI resorts in Cancun and along the Maya Riviera(including the Desire properties) do not allow outside visitors(even if invited by a current guest) onto their properties.

Some resorts(not the Desire properties) allow visitors to purchase a day or night pass - however these passes are very expensive and actually work out to be the same or more that than booking a room for one night.

Given your statements of curiosity and the discussions that you and your wife have already had, I sure think that you are ready for the Desire Pearl experience ..... you would have a blast, regardless of how "involved" you might choose to be . My only caution is the time you book. If you only book the minimum of 2 nights, I am sure that you will have wished you had planned on at least 5 nights. :)

We also are in the same situation as yourselves, although we have booked a week 4/26-5/03. We made our decision after doing much research both on these Desire Forums as well as reading many, many reviews on trip advisor. Our conclusion was, it sounds like the perfect place for a couple to go so long as you are secure in your relationship and have an open mind. You can take things as far as you want when it comes to playing with others or simply just be together with each other. From everything we have read there doesn't seem to be a lot of pressure and everyone respects each others decisions, so our advice after all the research would be do it, you won't regret it.

We were in a similar situation 2 years ago. We booked a week at the Marriott and 3 days at Riviera Maya in the middle of the week. We never even checked out of the Marriott we were so concerned that we might be uncomfortable and have to head right back. Wow were we concerned for nothing! We absolutely hated going back to the Marriott and last year spent nearly a week at RM and have booked the same in the middle of April this year. Just do it, you'll never look back. :D

Desire Pearl

Postby cdub » Wed Feb 27, 2013 1:03 pm

My wife and I will be traveling to Mexico for 10 days in April but staying at a resort (Sapphire) just up the beach from Desire Pearl. The resort we are staying at is not clothing optional and we have never been to a c/o resort but have had several discussions about it in the past year or so and feel we would really like to explore it. Is there any way to spend some time at the resort without an extended stay, from what i understand there is no way to get in the resort without booking at least a 2 night stay but is it possible to use the beach and is it common to have/see full nudity on the beach of Desire Pearl? Ultimately we would like to stay there for 1 full night but it doesn't look like we can do that. Any ideas, Can anyone help us out?
Thanks,

Last year my wife and I stayed at Azul Beach, close to Desire RM. A couple of afternoons, we walked by the beach after 4:30ish, when the people from Desire seem to be either having fun at the hot tub or taking a power nap  , so the beach was quite empty. Both afternoons, we stopped by, got rid of our bathing suits and stayed there for a bit... even got into the sea

Security didn't seem to bother until I made the big mistake of taking my camera out of my bag to take some pictures of my beautiful wife... Two seconds after, we had a security guy asking if we were Desire guests...

The End.

It might be possible to book just one night at Pearl - have you tried ??

All beaches in Mexico are public up to the high tide mark - that means you have access and can walk along the public part of any beach.

However because of issues the local citizens committee of Puerto Morelos has created in regard to how Pearl is allowed to use the non public part of the beach, security at Pearl is very strict and will not allow people walking the public portion of the beach to linger or stop and lay out on the non public part of the beach in front of Pearl.

Desire Pearl is clothing optional - what Pearl guests wear on the beach is up to them individually.

I looked into it and must go 2 nights. At $600+ per night we can't afford that.

Yes, it is definitely worth the extra money. Too, you might want to look at different times of the year when the rates are a bit lower ..... our rates in June are some of the best. We plan ahead and put a little bit of money in our "Desire Jar" so that we can afford a week of self-indulgence each year.
