October weather

I have searched the forum for trip reports and comments about the weather in October. I've also tried to read some TA reports during that time to get an idea of what type of weather to expect. I have read that the best months to go are September and October (as long as there are no hurricanes!!)
What we are hoping for is that it is warm enough to use the beautiful pool? We typically have gone in January and Feb. to the Mayan but have not been able to use the pools at times. Same for Jamaica and DR.
Will we be able to use the pool at Pearl in October? Will the air be warm enough at night that you don't need a cover up?
Thx!

We were in Pearl late Oct/early Nov last year and spend all together 17 days on Rivera Maya... I don't know if we were just lucky but there wasn't even a one rainy, overcast day during our holiday. temperature during a daytime was very warm, but not too hot - just perfect, with the sunshine gone it was slightly chiller at the night time but still warm enough to wear barley anything at all

You may need a light cover up for the evenings if you are planning on sitting outside and doing nothing... otherwise you should be warm enough

Thanks for your input! Sounds great
Can anyone comment on the pool temperature in October and November? Cokeman?
If the pools are cool, would we be be able to bring blow up floaties to float around the pool with a drink in hand? Does anyone do this? One thing we loved about couples resorts were the pool/ocean floats. I wish Desire had some for use. Nothing like hanging out in the middle of the pool or watching a game of volleyball from the float! They do need cheerleaders you know!!

The pool wasn't very warm. But it was was nice to get in for a cool down swim/splash and different games / "exercises"...

There was plenty of floaties around and there were heavily used, so if you have something you want to bring with you go for it!

I'm so glad to hear that! We just really like to play around and enjoy the pool and almost always between Jan - March we have hit a cold spell and the pools were freezing. We thought that at the end of Summer in Oct, Nov that the pools might still be warm.
I don't understand why the resorts cannot heat one pool. I know at Pearl there is the big jacuzzi but it's such a beautiful looking pool and it's a shame that a lot of the time it's really not usable other than a quick dip. That is the one thing we just loved about DLC...Heated Pool!!

Does anyone know when the pool is actually warm? This seems to be a problem most months... I see lots of comments about this. Why doesn't the resort heat the pool during the evenings? When the sun is out they could turn off the heater then it would be warm all of the time...

I don't think it is a heated pool period. Why a resort of the pearls stature has a unheated pool is a Mystery. Still a very nice pool !!!

If you look into resorts up and down the Riviera Maya, you'll find that a heated pool is simply hard to come by. There are a few, but they're far from common.....

What a shame because the pool looks so relaxing and beautiful. All I can say is if Desire Los Cabos can heat their pool at that price point then surely Desire Pearl would be able to accommodate their guests. I really feel this is an important aspect as the day activities all center around the pool do they not? I think we would go more often if we knew the pool was heated. It really makes a difference. I hope it is in the plans or on the back burner or something!
I know that Secrets Capri and Excellence Riviera and a few more upper end resorts heat their pool or heat a portion or a select pool on the property. These are upper end price points for resorts and I feel that Pearl is right up there so I WISH they could heat it! Please!

We are planning a trip back to Pearl early in January but may not if the pool temp is freezing like it has been posted on many forums! It seems that at this price point they should be able to at least regulate the temp high enough to get some people in it, hard to believe that at high season prices, no one uses the pool. Is the hot tub and bar open during the day when the pool is too cold to get in? Any info would be appreciated.

Hot tub 'opens' around 1pm - when we were there in March (and the pool was freezing) the hot tub started to fill up as soon as they turned on the jets.
