I know this has been discussed but can gentlemen wear shorts to dinner at Pearl or is it long pants and nice shoes?

Dress shorts are OK in the Buffet restaurant, but in the Specialty restaurant it's long pants only - a light pair of Dockers, etc is fine...

Just go to the web site link below and the dress code for each restaurant is specifically described.
I always try and follow the rules.

Unfortunately we saw many men who did not adhere to the dress code that is posted. Sad really.

What is wrong with taking this opportunity to dress up a little and actually look good and stylish. The ladies all do. Why is the men are always competing to look the cheapest and grungiest they can. I can get away with flip flops. I can wear those cheapo pants that I have had since 1997, Come on men. The ladies woudl love to see you trying for them.

We could not agree more with Adrian, appreciate it when the men make an effort.
Like to think of this as a somewhat upscale resort, the least men could do
is dress well for dinner when the women are doing so much.....
Flip flops and shorts for dinner? No thanks

As I guy, I very much agree with the last few posters. Most of the women really get dressed up for dinner at Desire, including my own wife, and I have no problem wearing a nice shirt, slacks and shoes. It adds alot to the ambiance and sexy vibe of the place to see everyone dressed up for dinner. Particularly at such an upscale setting as the Pearl restaurant. Don't want to be having a nice dinner and see guys in shorts and t-shirts, baseball caps, etc. at dinner. That's ok for breakfast and lunch, not dinner at an upscale restaurant.

Perhaps a bit off topic, but one of the reasons we will not even consider going to Hidden Beach or some of the other nudist/naturist resorts is the lack of a dress code at dinner. The last thing we want to see at dinner are people dining in the nude or in bathrobes, which some do at Hidden Beach. We're not judgmental about the people that do it, to each his/her own, but its not for us and we can't even understand the desire to do it. Sunning and swimming in a tropical environment is another matter.

Staying off topic. Hidden Beach has very nice resturants at their sister resort Eldorado that do have a dress code. The resturant at Hidden Beach is okay, but most of the seating is outside next to the pool. The A/N or topless part of that is allowed but not necessarily all that common. I would not let this keep anyone from visting that resort.

I totally agree. We went to HB last year and the best restaurants are outside the gate and require proper attire. To say you would not consider going there because some people who eat around the pool nude or topless is ridiculous.

How about the other side of the coin . Do majority of the women dress in theme or at least provocatively or are most in regular dinner clothes? You wouldn't think there would be so many questions for a 4 night trip lol

Most women dress as you would say provocatively, tyically in what I call lifestyle skirts, very tight, preferably shiny or silver and 2 inches below sea level. Which they can then go on to wear for the rest of the evening. Or some change into specific theme outfits between dinner and entertainment time. I didnt see many in "theme outfits" at dinner. Classy and looking very good appears to be the objective. Whereas the men....
