Beach beds, and room upgrades

My husband and I will be coming to Pearl for a week beginning June 22, after having many wonderful trips to Desire RM. One of the things we love about RM are the beach beds, where we can lounge all day if we want to. Does Pearl have a beach consierge for reserving beach beds the way that RM does? We usually met with Rene on our first day at RM and reserved our beach bed for the week. Also, I was wondering if anyone has done the room upgrade offer from Pearl, where they give you the two massages, a bottle of Champagne and upgrade to a Master Suite. Where are the Master Suites located, and is it worth the extra money?

One month to go!! Whoo Hoo!!! :D

The very few beach beds at Pearl are all reserved for those that book the Penthouse suites. So in general if you want a beach bed at Pearl and are not booked into a Penthouse suite you are SOL - sorry

Ugh. The more we read, the more we are starting to regret not going back to RM. Thought a change of scenery at Pearl would be nice after 5 years at RM.

We didn't bother with the beach beds at Pearl mostly cuz the beach concierge set up our very comfy loungers in the perfect spot for us. The beach loungers are wood with really great pads on them. As for the rooms - we had a regular room and it was much bigger than any room we have been in at RM - with lots of drawers and closet space.

The upgrade is well worth the money! We had a master suite at the quiet end, request a high floor, views are breath taking.
We opted for the romantic dinner for 2 on the roof top of the restaurant ,absolutely amazing. We'll probably do the same package again this oct. take full advantage of the spa as well.

I know this post is from last year, but we are going in June and reading up on everything we can! From pictures we have seen, it looks like there are quite a few beach beds at Pearl. Since you seem to be all knowing, CokeMann, :D how many beach beds are there and how many penthouse suites are there at Pearl? Are the PH suites always fully booked? I wouldn't think so. It also looks like Pearl has really nice beach chairs, too, so that's another good option for the beach.

Depends on the week....

We have a penthouse for part of our stay but usually prefer a more lively environment so we were thinking the fun end of the pool would be better for us than the beach. Do they have day beds around the pool at the fun end too?

Thanks! And where do we learn more about this upgrade offer? We booked penthouse for 4 nights and ocean for 3. We're hoping to upgrade the ocean nights if the price is right :)

They have gorgeous day beds with mattresses, and new ones on the way (maybe when you get there). The pool guys Victor & Garrad allocate a bed for you and sort you out with towels and a shade if you want. None of this saving your bed at 5am like TTR! Tip these guys well and you'll get your favourite spot everyday.
But don't expect it to be too lively, even at the fun end, the entertainment in the day is pretty low key, it's not the Sexy Pool.

Thanks. What about our non penthouse days? Great to hear it is not like ttr where we have to reserve a chair at 6am. So what time do we need to be poolside to get 2 chairs (doesn't have to be a bed) near the fun end of the pool? Or is it just give the attendant a $20 no matter what time and he will make it happen?

I suggest on your first day you just have a chat with one of the pool guys (you are not likely to get exactly where you want to be first day, assuming you aren't arriving at breakfast), and tell him roughly where you would like to be for the rest of your trip (tip here). Then on your way to breakfast each morning, say hi to him, (we take a book or hat with us), he will let you know which beds he has allocated you, put your stuff down (small tip) and job's a goodun!

Exactly! Be genuine and nice to the guys in charge of the loungers / beds (Is Jared still there?) chat to them, treat them like friends (not staff) and tip them well... In fact you should just treat everyone like a lifelong friend and see how well you get treated in return.

Anyway this works for us, we've always had excellent service and a lounger where we've wanted. Of all the resorts we've ever been to - Pearl has been the best as far as finding a place to lay in the sun.
