Pearl or RM ?

Hi, we are a 40 year old couple and our first time going to a resort like this. We will be going to either RM or Pearl and are nervous and excited about going. We have not done anything this exciting before and lead pretty vanilla lives with two children and always going from place to place with them. We are celebrating our 15th year anniversary and want to get a little wild and crazy. We do not know what to expect. We have a few questions which have probably been asked before but again new at this. We want to go when there will be people around our age. (no offense to anyone but may have more in common) Which resort would be a better option for us? Should we try and split the time between both resorts? (if that's an option). We have heard to go when there are takeover groups? I have tried to look at the calendar but as soon as it comes up the screen goes blank. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Pearl may be the better option for tentative first timers. Don't get hung up on the age thing. Everyone that does this type of vacation is young at heart. You will have a blast at either! Depending on the group, it may be a little hardcore for first timers. Do a little research on the group.

Do 4 days at one, then 4 days at the other. Then decide which you like better.

We have done RM about 15 times now. On our last trip we split 3 nights/4nights between the two, which was our first tip to Pearl. Though both resorts are more similar than not, there were slight differences that we enjoyed in both, so from now on we will be splitting our vacation week between the two.

I would 100% recommend you go to pearl , we just got back from our first trip to any resort of this kind and stayed at pearl , will write a trip report soon but let me say this , we took the 1 hr walk down to rm and were in a cab an outta there in under 1/2 an hr

Yikes! Only a half hour and you were out of there? Not sure what prompted this assessment, but as you have only been to this type of resort ONCE (and that stay was ONLY at Pearl), it hardly makes this more than an quickly conceived opinion of PM. We have been to PM more than a dozen times so feel that we do have some experience in 'this type of resort'.

We have visited Pearl to see the property. It is a beautiful resort. We think PM is also a beautiful resort.

We love the sexually charged atmosphere Desire resorts offer. We know from experience that PM gives us that, and MORE. Also have no doubt that Pearl would deliver, as well. To anyone interested in this topic, hope you don't pass up on a wonderful opportunity to enjoy either Desire resort.

Having been to Desire Cabo, RM and Pearl, it's really tough to say which one would be 'better' for you and what you are looking for.

RM is much more of a laid-back, nude party, let-it-all-hang-out social kind of place - you will meet people. Pearl was a bit more reserved, more 'romantic', less nude than RM (but most were nude in the hot tub), seemed to be an 'older' crowd, less on the party side of things - and more Europeans than we have seen at any of the other Desire resorts.
Having said that, though, it can all depend on the day and/or the week.

We have enjoyed the food at both resorts, Pearl seemed to be a 'step up' with the food and the service, although we would never complain about the food or service at any of the resorts.

When we were at Pearl we walked to RM along the beach to go say hi to some of the staff and check things out. There was a take-over there and that's definitely a time we would avoid RM. Some people love the 'wall to wall people, 'in your face' kind of party atmosphere but that's not for us. We were happy to get back to Pearl.
