Is there any good snorkeling right off the resort. Wondering if we should pack our masks. Also, how is the beer and house wine. Are they good? Sometimes we find tap resort beer can be questionable and we have always found Mexican wine a bit tough to drink. We usually pack a few bottles from home. We are getting so excited about our trip. Just three weeks till paradise!

There isn't much to see right off the beach at the resort. You can go in to town and go out on a boat to the reef.
The wines aren't bad. I think they were from South America.

House wines are South American, there was a Merlot and Cab Sav (if I remember correctly). They have a wine 'celler' with a fairly wide / pricey selection, but nothing we recognised. Couples that we were with last time brought their own from home - it was great, and we'll probably do the same when we go in a few weeks time. Another couple bought some in Puerto Morelos… but it was completely 'cooked' from being stored & handled badly.
