The wife and I will be heading to the Pearl in around 3 weeks and this time around would like to try some different drinks when down there. I usually go with a mojito, while she prefers the rum runner. It's time to change things up a bit! So folks, what do people like to drink when they are visiting Desire? Name and quick recipe would be appreciated!

Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, and a splash of Blue Curaco. All over ice. It's light and sweet, and not creamy like Pina Coladas. And not carbonated.

Bacardi Limon & club soda with a twist of lime. Nice & refreshing, caffeine free, low calories & almost no sugar.
The wife likes Cosmo's & appletinis but will experiment with various frozen drinks throughout the day. Just ask the bartender for some recommendations.

We'll be there as well in about 3 weeks time (July 22-29).
My wife will usually have Scotch straight up or with a cube while in the Hot Tub - I'm kind of partial to Gin & Tonic in the hot tub… Not very exciting, but neither of us like our drinks sweet or overly complicated.

I'm a straight crown royal on the rocks guy unfortunately it looks like the resort does not offer it. Guess I'll have to bring my own!

I know they have Chivas - not sure of the other brands they offer.

heavyg we are Gentleman Jack drinkers and have brought our own bottle to RM on a couple occasions. C.C. would keep it for us at the beach bar.

We've decided to bring our own wine this time to enjoy with supper - the house wines are so-so, and the ones in the cellar aren't so 'deep'.

My steady diet of drink was Jack Daniels on ice ..... After the third or fourth order, the bartenders playfully just called me Jack. Seven days later, I have considered changing my name to Jack.

Try a frozen mojito or a frozen mango mojito. Very refreshing. We used to have a 'Riviera Maya' at LC but I can't remember the recipe, I just know it was awesome!

Absolut Mandarin Press - (Half Sprite/Half Soda) Garnish with lime
Crisp & refreshing while not being overly sweet

Ask the beach bartenders to make you the chocolate coffee ice cream shot - yes they have ice-cream behind the bar

Don Julio Anejo on the rocks

They also have a few regional liqueurs that you should give a try. One was a honey licorice flavor and was yummy. Ask the hot tub bartender to set you up with a taster of each.

Oh I forgot, Frozen Mojito made with Don Julio. Nice!

My wife likes a drink called "pussy juice" , says it's awesome!!

That sounds good. Is it possible/permitted to bring your own bottle of wine and have it served at the table in the restaurants?

Yes it is - no restrictions beyond what the Mexican Gov't will allow you transport into the country. Not 100% sure but I think Canadians are allowed to bring in 3x750 mL each?

We've eaten with other couples in the past that have brought their own wine / vodka / whisky and had the resort store and serve it.
