Yoga at Pearl

Hi

I have seen a few posts on this, but nothing lately. Has any recent visitor to Pearl participated in or witnessed any Yoga classes?

We were there end of May/early June and there was yoga every morning or just about every morning. Not sure if its changed since then, but I would be surprised if it did, it was quite popular

In August, we saw them one morning and only two guests working out.

They hired Cathy to run the Yoga class last week. Anywhere from 2-10 guest participated each morning at 10:00. Due to the rain, or prediction of rain, classes were held in the gym, disco and one beautiful morning on the pier. Joy led the class on Sunday and today. Raquel led the class yesterday. Since I was the only guest, we did yoga for one hour and then Raquel was kind enough to give me a one hour dance lesson right after the yoga.

Another perk of getting involved in the activities - more activities!!! I swear that David has more energy than a 4-year old hopped up on sugar. We need to learn how to bottle that stuff and sell it.

Generally Pearl has a guest instructor come in each week and having had the awesome opportunity to teach out on the end of the dock last March was perfect. We ended the week's classes by all stripping down and diving off to swim into the beach (we were reprimanded by security however) Alittle challenging with the wind out there but my classes were well attended for vacation yoga in paradise. I will be teaching again next March and coming over to attend my friend's class while she is there is November and we are at RM. Yoga in paradise is the best!!! Lisa

What about Nude Yoga? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo6lAC__CV4 The technique isn't anything to call home about, but I like the concept (and the view). Has to be beneficial because we'll all be sucking our tummies in right?

One day last May, there were only men at the yoga class, being run by Raquel and Jessica. We asked if they minded us being nude during the yoga. Didn't matter to them. From then on, if any ladies were present I would politely ask before the session started. Never had any ladies object and doing the exercises without restricting clothes on is much more comfortable. The exemption was the two days we did yoga in the gym. Clothes are required there. The gym was used on a couple of rainy days.

Do they provide mats? Would prefer not to pack ours.
