Have you seen the new photo of the new Aphrodite restaurant on their web site under NEWS. This looks very nice and a huge improvement over what was a rather tired area previously. I am very enthused about the changes they are making in keeping the hotel fresh and smart. Let's hope this continues as this hotel is the only one I know wordwide which provides this level of luxury and ameneties with a C/O beach (with accompanying fun).

We were at the hotel from Oct 5th to the 8th. Since the Aphrodite was closed, we were given the option of reserving a table to dine by the ocean..... WHAT AN EXPERIENCE.... now that they have reopened the restaurant, I hope that they still offer it.

It would be great if someone could post a real-time photo of the restaurant! I'm curious to see how close to the outdoor seating is to the water!

We got back from a one-week trip to Desire RM on Saturday. We visited Pearl for an afternoon the previous Tuesday. We had stayed at Pearl for a week during November 2012. Aphrodite was open, and we had lunch there. Didn't take any pics ( I assume the Desire website will post some) but were very impressed. Thought they did a great job. Vast improvement over what it looked like during our previous trip in 2012. Liked the decor - very light colors. All-glass wall facing the ocean, and the tables along the glass in particular have a great view. Tables and seating really nice, good layout, tables of various sizes. There was both an a la carte menu and a buffet. Food was good, and a decent selection. It is definitely alot more upscale than lunch at Desire RM, although we enjoy our lunches at RM just as much. The a/c is nice when its hot, which it was the day we were there.

On the other hand, while we had seen photos of the renovations at the Pearl restaurant, seeing it first hand is still different. It really doesn't do anything for us but it certainly is unique! RM just finished renovating its high-end restaurant, formerly called Piacere and now Sahlo, and we both preferred it over the Pearl restaurant, which simply doesn't appeal to us. (we're going strictly on decor and ambiance, not food and service). Just our own personal preferences.

Is it true that there is no outdoor seating at the renovated Aphrodite restaurant , sitting outside to eat was one of our favorite things about pearl it would be ashame if they got rid of that option completely.

Yes, they did in fact elimate the outside seating. Everything is inside.

Although the new updates look classy and elegant, we are really bummed they did away with the outdoor seating. Loved breakfasts outside in the morning. I hope they come up with an alternative for a casual breakfast or lunch.
