Transportation to and back from Cancun

The GF and I will be at Pearl this weekend and on Saturday night we are going to run up to Cancun to have dinner at place I wanted to visit for a while. Any suggestions on the best way to get up to the Hotel zone and back to Pearl, we will be coming back fairly late. I assume a taxi is fine, but would be open to any other ideas. Thanks.

Taxi is about the most convenient, however it's not going to be inexpensive. Posted taxi rates are about $45 USD each way

That is what I would guess. Any issue with the return trip being late at night?

Not really, if you are in the Cancun HZ, taxis are easy to find- if you are in Cancun centro they can be more difficult to locate - you can always have the restaurant where you are eating call you one when you are ready to return.
