Questions from Newbies

Hello All.

We've decided that it's time to make reservations to at Pearl. We're not swingers, but absolutely not prudes, with no problem with PDs. So, we have a few questions and would really appreciate any pointers.

1) When is the best time of year to go (We are somewhat limited to kids' school schedules and activities)? Is late winter, okay?
2) What is an appropriate length of stay? Is it Vegas-esque, where you burn out quickly?
3) Is there a general consensus of which room type to stay in?
4) What is the best way to and from the airport to the resort?
5) Are we age appropriate?
6) Anything else that we should know before we book?

Apologies if these have been covered in other posts. Thanks for your help. We are (both) really looking forward to this.

You sound a lot like us. We just got back from Pearl and let me tell you it was an amazing time. Like everyone said the best part is meeting new people.

1. Not sure on what to tell you about when. Keep asking others but the weather last week was really nice first four or five days then got a little chilly but still tolerable, although very little rain.
2. We stayed 7days 6nights. Next time will probably be 5days 4 nights. We are not big partiers but we were while we were there and by the last day was wiped out. If you want a constant party all day through all night then this is not it but for us it was just right.
3. Our opinion all the rooms are nice. We had the basic room but it was plenty big and we thought very nice.
4. We booked with USA Transfers to and from. they were very good.
5. Now this is interesting. We were worried about this one as well because we are not real social. We are 40. Almost everyone we met was older than us BUT... They were all amazing and extremely fun and entertaining. Wild energy and great stories. This was what will make us go back. We are not in the lifestyle but no one ignored us or made us feel left out. Again absolutely AMAZING!!!
6. The last thing I can tell you is experience it all!!! I mean ALL!!!!!!!

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the info; it's very helpful. We're planning a 5 day / 4 night stint. What was the best experience you had?

1) We've been winter, early spring, late spring and New Years... Seems about the same anytime.
2) We always stay a week but now that Pearl is open, we split our week between the 2.
3) My wife usually wants an ocean view but once we got the one under the jacuzzi that faces the pond. The room is not why you go here... Doesn't matter unless you are just really picky.
4) We are members and get the transport for free but I think they use the one someone above mentioned... US something.
5) The majority is over 40 but we have seen early 20s up to 86. No one cares what your age is it what you look like.
6) Don't be afraid. You can do as little or as much as you want... No pressure and great people. We were timid our first time but now we interact much more even though we aren't in the lifestyle. I would highly recommend having sex on a bed at the Jacuzzis in front of other people. It's such a turn on for you and those watching.

Welcome to your new addiction :-)

1) We went late November, apparently the rainy season had just ended. We got a little rain but it didn't matter. Weather was warm but not too hot.
2) We stayed 5 nights which was about right for us. With only 3 dinner restaurants the food does get old.
3) We had a Jacuzzi suite which was nice but we never used the Jacuzzi, a waste of money for us. Room location is more important than type.
4) Arrange transport to/from through a travel agent. Watch out for the timeshare people offering rides, they'll kidnap you for a few hours.
5) We saw all ages, most were late 30s to 50s. 'We're 38 and were younger than most Desire is expensive so not many 20 yr olds can afford it.
6) Have a good time, don't be nervous, talk to people and let it all hang out.

You mention room location is more important than type. What location is best in your opinion? Thanks

Where do people tell their family/friends back home where they are staying if they choose not to tell the truth?? Example: We stayed at Hedo last year and told everyome we were at Sandals b/c it was right next door

We tell people "Azul". It is next door and just in case you tell someone and they've been to Azul, there are 2 of them.
