Visiting other Desire Resorts

Maybe already posted but is their a fee to visit the other Desire resort if staying at Pearl or vice versa?

We did it 2 weeks ago, no charge.

None at all, you just have to arrange your own transport, $20 each way in a taxi. Just let reception know if you wish to dine at the other resort as they will have to book a table for you. Check out the new Sahlo restaurant at RM or the new Aphrodite at Pearl, both excellent!

Wonder if that bas been increase due to new tax in Mexico ?

You can go in the morning, enjoy the day at the resort and all the meals and drinks, etc. You just can't sleep over night there. So far, anyway.

Sweet sounds like a plan then...staying at Pearl and would love to check out RM

You are quite right, the rate went up from $15 to $20 during our stay, still a special rate and still cheaper than a regular taxi.

So there is a 5% tax increase starting 2014 and because of that they are increasing the taxi fare with 25%. And on top of the $20 you're supposed to add the tip. That's all I have to say ... have to go back to my second job.

Just a FYI - the normal (excessive) one way taxi fare between Desire RM and PM or Pearl was 250 pesos ($25 USD) before the tax increase.

Locals who use taxis don't tip and since the excessive change to the taxi rates in 2012 we no longer tip for taxi rides if we do them - just pay for the already inflated regulated fare.

Just walk along the beach, what's the problem, 40 min one way, or even better, run -- we do it every time we visit, fresh towels and drinks upon arrival, always great fun
