Questions about Pearl before our first visit

Hello everyone....
We are Jamie and Chris,
First off, we are very impressed by the kindness and help in this forum.
We are planning a new year’s eve/week trip to Desire Pearl. We have made reservations at Pearl but we’re having a difficult time deciding on Pearl for sure over Riviera Maya. We don’t really want to split the trip and have to move mid-week. We are f33 and m43, we hear that Pearl is an older crowd?(we actually prefer couples in their mid 30's to 50’s...age appropriate for us.... and ok, Jamie likes em older...lol). We have also heard that there is somewhat less "nightlife/enthusiasm" at Pearl compared to the original resort. We understand that Pearl is nicer, we just don't want to trade the novelty of what Desire is all about for the larger pool, bigger hot tub and some fancy beach beds.....I guess our questions are as follows:
1. Is desire pearl mostly lifestyle couples or a lot of nudists?
2. Is there a fairly active night time "naughty atmosphere”?
2b. Has anyone been there for new years and is it a busy/exciting time there....a more “happening” week? A good way to celebrate bringing in the new year?
3. What do you think the average age is?
4. Have you been to RM and are we missing out on the real party be choosing the more luxurious Pearl?
5. Can you go in the ocean or is the bottom too rocky/sharp to walk barefoot?
6. If we have the resources to stay at Pearl and visit RM are we at a disadvantage with meeting people there because we may not be there all day or most days?
7. Are the bugs really bad?...lol
8. Is it fairly convenient to do stuff outside the resort like some tours, jungle crap, fishing, get out for shopping or go to other restaurants? What else is there to do?
9. Last but not least, we usually go on dates with individual couples, as a result we don't have to compete........we are a little nervous about the group setting. We are both reasonably attractive/average and very outgoing.....do you think that is enough to not be ignored or feel left out? ....pretty sure we know the answer but looking for other’s experience.

Thanks so much for your time,

~Gingersnap & 88

We were there in November, but in rreality it changes from week to week.

1. Id guess 25% regular lifestylers, 25% vacation lifestylers, 25% nudist and 25% curious folks

2. Again it varies, sometimes yes, sometimes tame

3. 45-50 (but as young as 25 and as old as 60's)

4. We thought RM was a better party, but again, crowd dependant.

5. Honestly never went in at Pearl so i cant comment

6. Idk

7. No, bugs were minimal in Nov.

8. Not a big deal, we've done a little off the resort and it was easy.

9. Go with a good attitude and you have no problems. Everyone is very friendly.

5. We found the beach to be pretty but the ground in the ocean is very hard and hurts a little when walking on it. We will bring "slip on beach footies" on our next visit.

We will be arriving at the Pearl the second week of June and are excited about the opportunities available. We believe unique individuals see each other and connect for possible adventures. Does anyone have advise regarding the availability of connection with those special individuals? Looking forward to the special world of Desire, alone or with others.

Agree with what has been said so far in reply to your concerns... Pearl has been called "classier" by those we spoke to when there last summer. This year will be our third year with Pearl. The age range is very wide, from 30's through 60's. The mix was well distributed, as mentioned, between life stylers, nudist, and just plain other folk who enjoy the tropical and clothing option resort. You make your own excitement. We found the hot tub to be full of a variety of fun and sexy times. Overall, we would describe Pearl as the classier, sexy tropical paradise that many we met also described it as. The beach is not that big, but it is beautiful, with a lovely pier to take a walk out onto for some private fun. Many of us walked for hours from Pearl's beach to other beaches, in either direction. The only time bugs were an issue was at night, on the beach.

If you split your time, you can make the best comparison. That is what we did our first time. We stayed at RM, but visited Pearl daily, for hours. Then we spent the last half of our vacation at a regular all inclusive, to debrief...it was our first time at a clothing optional resort

It truly is all about your outlook, attitude, and communication with each other. And as the saying goes, " it's all about the women..." So the environment will be whatever it will be, but you bring to it your own sizzle. :D

The sizzle is there... Physically and most importantly otherwise.

Great thing about this place is: if you smile, say hello, and are even mildly pleasant people will greet you with open arms. You'll never feel left out, and there isn't any need to compete for attention.

At Pearl for the first time in June. How is the disco, what do people typically wear, when is it open? Thanks much everyone.

It was our first time recently and I too worried and wondered what to wear. The ladies wore anything from sexy dresses to only their undies and bras, most wore very sexy outfits similar to what you'd find at an adult store. Some men dressed up but most of them wore nice slacks and button up shirts. Dress fun and sexy, I would say less is best!
