We are heading down this week and can't wait for Wednesday to get here. Can someone comment on where at the resort Wi-Fi is available and what the speed of the connection is? Lobby, guest rooms, pool or beach? Would like to be able to access from room to communicate with the kids via FaceTime and at the pool for streaming music. Will that be possible or will I be limited to the lobby area?

Last year in August, wifi was good at the lobby, but for the rest of the resort , room/pool, the wifi signal wasn't very strong or consistent. I am afraid for the possibility of facetime and/or streaming.
Maybe they placed stronger antennas now ( hope so ).

In March it worked great even in our room; we skyped Afghanistan and had better connection than at home. So it varies but lobby is always a backup

On Pearl property right now.... a fast internet connection working in our room with no problems. Many connected on beach as well.

I saw antennas all over the place while we were there. Good signal from our room, the pool, the beach, and the lobby. Should have no problems, and there was no up charge.

great news, and I thought Pearl couldn't get much better...

Yes we noticed the repeaters in the palm trees by the pool, but always seems to work best in the lobby.

Vacation = No TV, No electronic devices (E-reader excluded).... Pure entertainment with new friends into the whee hours of the morning

I'm currently in a room at Pearl and the WiFi is excellent.

Any updates from anyone there recently?? I do have a "little" work to do while there and need and internet connection to do so. Also imessages can be sent via the interent.
