Book twice as long as you think you want to go!

Don't be frightened to speak to the "scary swingers"! And don't think that just because a couple are being friendly, they want to be "friendly". Now, I can't actually believe I was like that on our first trip, but I was!

I would look to socialize more with other couples there. We were fairly reserved and probably missed several opportunities to make new friends. The guests at Desire are what makes it such an incredible experience!

It's funny you mention that. We were originally looking at just four days for our first trip but after reading all of the great trip reports, we decided to make it eight to take advantage of the 3+1 special.

A lot of this stems from my wife and I being very ambitious and each running our own companies outside of our normal careers. We never really took vacations. A few days at the beach here, a day overnight in another city there, etc. We wen't on our first cruise in April and liked (not loved) it because of the all-inclusive nature and having no worries. The issue is that we get bored very easy and a cruise ship can be boring, especially after dinner and the shows. Everyone went to sleep and we were one of maybe 3 couples in the disco. We feared that would be the case here as well...

I think we have been convinced that we will not be bored...

Definitely to not be so scared and assume everyone other than us are full swap swingers who want to jump us

This sounds like part of a song I think I heard once upon a time...ok...if I could go back in time, I would go back to the time prior to our most recent visit to Pearl. Why? Before the trip is when much of the limits and discussions are held. The only thing I would change would be the way I stated I would approach the special foam party. Previous years the foam was sprayed over the pavement surrounding the pool, and reached heights of several feet and spread across the pool. My lack of grace and having contact lenses...I was not that interested...But, this year, the foam was more under control, and I wanted to get involved. Mind you, I did not want to be near the foam machine, but I did want to ease my way into the party. But, since we cannot go back in time, there is time for reconsideration and future planning. Right?

Hmm....oh, and I would definitely ask for a sensual massage for every year we had been at Pearl... This year was 'the bomb'!

my hubby wishes he would have dropped his shorts earlier in the trip - it was our first time! while i was nude i wish i would have been more self confident - i didn't know i had admirers till the end of the trip! we are headed back in dec for 5th trip - lessons learned
