Passport Cards

When K and I renewed our passports, we got the new passport cards that are supposed to be good for Mexico and Canada. Has anyone used this and left the book home?? Any additional scrutiny from customs??

Personally I wouldn't chance leaving your regular passport booklet at home - take it with you - try the card and "if" there is a problem with the card you can then just present your regular passport booklet ......

The U.S. Passport Card can be used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry and is more convenient and less expensive than a passport book. The passport card cannot be used for international travel by air.
