Desire Pearl Foam Party

We are planning an Oct trip to DP. Can someone confirm what day is the foam party? Thanks!

Typically Saturday afternoons, starting around 1:00.

Do you need glasses to keep the foam out of your eyes? Can you lose someone in the foam? any advice?

No, the foam doesn't hurt your eyes, but you do occasionally have to go on instr uments to navigate the foam.

We heard they use baby shampoo for the foam. Anyone know if this is true?

Last time I was there the foam party started at 2:00pm. When the foam gets close to the eyes I did feel uncomfortable. A goggle may help but I didn't see anyone using it. The pool is not so big that after losing someone you couldn't find her/him back.

Yes the foam will get in your eyes, bothered some but not many, you will lose each other briefly in the foam as it rolls in and changes depths
often, not a huge pool you will find your partner eventually (hard to see more than a couple of feet away.)

Well, it depends how many people are going through immigration and if your shuttle is there waiting on you but we tend to average about 1hour from touchdown to resort, we've made it in less time and slightly more......so, you should be in the pool when they kick it off around 2pm. Don't miss it, can be lots of fun!

As eddieandjojo mentioned "IF" all goes well and there are not too many planes landing at the same time as yours on that day/time, you might just make it to the 2pm start of the Pearl foam party

On the other hand is, that on a couple of our trips, it has taken 1 1/2 to 2hrs from touchdown to just clearing the airport and locating our transfer driver - so you probably have a 50/50 chance, good luck !

Thanks...we are arriving on a Saturday so it will probably be busy! Last november we flew right through the airport but we arrived on a Friday. Not sure if it's more of a zoo on the weekend but hoping it works out!.....if not, we will catch the tail end of it...landing at 12:05 so, should be ok.

I would imagine being in the foam is fun as long as it doesn't cause any eye stinging or i thought i remember people getting sore throats.....last year we were at RM for the late night foam but we kind of stood on the outside of it, we didn't go right in...chickens! The day after I saw little bunches of foam in the area. What the heck are they using to make the foam that it is still laying around the next day? I was shocked to see it, thought it would dissolve?

Last trip we landed at 12:55pm.... Walked into Pearl lobby at 1:45pm told them at the front desk to hurry so we could make the foam party. They told up to relax they had it yesterday (fri) so we thought we would catch it next fri.... Nope had it on Sat we left at noon!
