Hi , my wife and I plan on going for the first time to the Pearl in May of 2015. Is the month of May ok to come to this resort , weather and crowd wise ? If yes does it matter if we go in the beginning of the month or the end like Memorial weekend . Thank you in advance , we are both looking forward to this resort after reading all the great reviews.

We were there this past May 31-June 7 and the weather pretty much sucked. We saw the sun a few times, for brief periods, but otherwise it was cloudy, overcast, grey and rainy. I won't ever go again, that time of year. Also, the resort was only at about 60% capacity if that (obviously, others knew this was a bad time of year to visit). Next time, we'll go earlier in the spring.

And for anyone else reading, is it hot enough during the winter? January/February/March? Or, are those months too cool for beach? I know Dominican Republic is plenty warm that time of year but wasn't sure about the Cancun area.

We are going in January and travel quite a bit in the dead of winter to get away from the cold at home. We've been to Cancun and Cozumel that time of the year and we never had an issue with the weather. It's in the low 80's during the day and the high 60's/low70's at night. The best part is they get very little rain in those months. The only bad part is that the days are short in those months. When we are there in January their will only be about 8 hours of day light. Which is fine, how much sun can you take in the dead of Winter. Just getting it all out there for you.

Was there from mid May to early June this year. The weather in mid May to end of May was excellent, you can't get more sun than it was. From early June there was a threat of hurricane getting near but never hitting it directly. The whole Caribbean region had lots of cloud. There was overcast most of the time and occasional rain shower. Hurricane season starts from early June in the area, so a bit earlier in May is more save. 8)

Yes, 2nd week of May this year was great weather wise and several of us from last May that were scattered slightly are banding together to all come starting around May 9th. Might be a good week to go :)

We were there end of May this past spring and it was disappointing to have the pool temp on the chilly side. Ok if we got down on our knees so the water was up to our chins :( The jacuzzi was "just right" ! :D

We were there during Memorial Day week and weather was perfect. Sea was a bit rough - it was tough to dive. Otherwise no rain at all.
